How is it a trap game for Houston when Tulane is favored??

Because even when we're favored we're expected to lose 03-lmfao03-nutkick

Attendance will be missing a few Cougar fans. Reading Coogfans this morning, there are at least a few Cougar fans stuck on I-10 between Houston and Beaumont. This Tropical Storm that looked to be done a day or two ago just won't go away. It's been pounding that area between Houston and Beaumont, 25" fell overnight and a huge area of rain still on its way, predicting another 12+ inches today.

The area in white has received over 25" of rain as of 10:04 this morning. I've heard there's 30+ inches of rain over a large area, but can't tell since NWS scale only goes up to 25".

Those areas got 50"-60" during Hurricane Harvey two years ago, but that was spread over 4 days. They're getting this in a much more compacted timeframe. I heard 25" fell overnight. Even if that fell over a 12-hour period, it's a 1000+ year storm (or 0.1% annual chance storm event). If that fell over a 6-hour period it's just "off the charts". With another 12" or so coming from what I hear.

Even Houston is getting it bad now, 5" - 6" have fallen in the last hour in parts of Houston.

Yeah, a lot of Coogs that planned on making the drive over this morning stuck in Houston. Winnie/Hamshire area on I-10 between Houston and Beaumont got 33 inches overnight.

King doesn't look like himself, and the Cougars defense is young and awful. This is a big game in deciding the AAC West. Thursday can't arrive fast enough.

Roll Wave

Should be a great game, competitive to the end. But maybe the title should be more appropriately, "Battle in the West...", since there are several others schools in the west undefeated at this point.

Of coarse, but this year Memphis is at Houston and we're at Memphis. If we all beat each other this year it's most likely to be in the opposite direction as last year. Memphis, Tulane, and Houston are all a step better at home. A loss here hurts Tulane more than Houston. All three teams notably better at home than on the road.

Oh, I don't know so much about that... Look at what Memphis just did to S. Alabama away vs. what we did last year at home to the same team. All that vs. struggling with a poor Ole' Miss team at home to open the season. I feel like the standard 3 point home field advantage differential is applicable to us, and nothing more.

Families will be calling players and coaches. This game is going to be very weird.

I knew a kid from Beaumont. Good kid. I wonder if he's okay.

There are likely players on both squads impacted by this.

I would say Houston was pretty hospitable to New Orleans in their time of need after Hurricane Katrina.

The least you could do is return the favor tonight and be good hosts. Be charitable, give the ball freely to your opponents...04-cheers

I didn't get flooded either... thank God... but other families have experienced unforgettable past and present flood events.
