Plus even if you're not drafted, playing a full season that goes to May and possibly June depending on conference title games and whatever passes for a postseason, and then only getting a few weeks off before the start of practice for fall, is a hell of an ask. We're talking 22-24 games, not counting conference title games and postseason, between February and November. We don't expect that from NFL players who actually get paid to do it and aren't expected to be full-time students on top of it.

Would be next-man-up in that scenario. I would be perfectly fine with that, vs no season where those players wouldn't be playing anyway.
