Top 2024 Ohioan Tyler McKinley lands Ohio State offer

OSU may not matter. My feeling is Wes, now in partnership with Rayvon, has the inside track here and McKinley may prove to be one of the best prospects ever to come out of Hamilton County. I'm keeping the faith after what we've seen on the recruiting trail this spring.

You beat me to it. Was going to ask about Tyler also. Whats the chances they can land him?

I'm far from a "recruiting insider" but from what I've read he and Rayvon are very close and it's been implied by some that McKinley wants to play at the next level with him. We'll see, but I'm increasingly optimistic that Wes will break through with a top ten recruiting class in '23 or '24.

If we thought Bearcat sports could never top 2021 for fans, we may be in for a pleasant surprise in basketball and football. It truly is a great time to be a UC fan.

If Miller can lock down Collier in '23 OR McKinnley in '24, paired with Rayvon would be one of the best strings of recruiting wins in a long time here...getting both, which is within the realm of possibility, should blow the roof off of 5th/3rd.

Bolded, that probably blows the minds of X fans too as UC would assert dominance by taking the top recruits locally in successive seasons, dispelling any doubt that Cincinnati still owns hoops tradition in this town.

There was never any doubt by serious hoops fans.

I think UC having a football team that is great now too helps too. Much more buzz about UC athletically.

Agreed. I think it can be an issue for an Alabama or Ohio State where football is far and away king. I never went to see an Ohio State game as a student but that was also mostly due to my disliking of Thad Matta. I do regret not checking out the student section for one but must of had to study or party each time it came up.

UC currently has the perfect mix even if I prefer football over basketball I’m well aware of how rocking UC’s arena can get.

Going to UC for undergrad in the 90's made basketball king for me, but that championship game against Houston in football may be my favorite sports experience yet.

Wonder if he's allowed to attend the football game since it appears Fickell's football recruits aren't? Seriously though, it should be a great weekend to showcase the campus and the city.

My guess is no....point of order, according to some tweets, Cyril is a reclass candidate. Could make the '23 class even more insane.

RE: Basketball Class of 2024
Rumors are circulating that Drew Adams is leaving Bradley to join the UC staff with the exact role unclear. Aside from the fact that he is a well regarded coach, it has been stated that whoever hires Adams will have the leg up on signing Flory Bidunga, the #1 C and #4 overall player in the 2024 class.

If we're not joining the B12, none of this - NONE - is even possible. I go back to the decision by the university to spend $$$ to upgrade facilities and to spend $$$ on a football coach to retain him.

Were basketball recruits in this past weekend, or are some anticipated this weekend? I'd think getting them into a sold out Nippert this Saturday would be beneficial.

Top 30 2024 Somto Cyril was here this past weekend.

Two top 60 2023s will be here for the Indiana game this weekend - PG Jizzle James and PF Arrinten Page. Page is Collier's AAU and HS teammate.

Thanks. The quality Wes continues to pursue is heartening. Hopefully the football Bearcats give them a great show Saturday night. The fans, especially the student section, will blow them all away.

Insanity! Why wouldn't he be able to attend the football game. The atmosphere will be amazing and thus a great opportunity to look good to a recruit.

It was technically an away game on the NCAA roll, and UC petitioned Miami to allow for football visitors, a petition that was denied. Sounds like Cyril was allow to attend as they simply paid for the tickets, but there was no other programming outside of going to the game downtown. All other stuff was on campus.
