Basketball Class of 2024
Always Be Recruiting...

Just so happens that 2nd from right is 6-9 Walnut Hills F Tyler McKinley who has offers from UC, XU, UL and WVU among others. #not a coincidence

McKinley took an unofficial visit Friday with Damone King, a 6-2 CG out of Louisville.

RE: Basketball Class of 2024
I don't know which, but I have a feeling either the 2023 or 2024 class is going to be HUGE -- like top 10. Might just be my fandom getting carried away, but I can see us gaining an early commitment from a top 50 guy and the tidal wave of that momentum carrying other blue chippers to Clifton.

Wes seemed to be enjoying himself at the game on Friday. Had a great spot in the corner endzone on the field.

He's an all-in kind of dude. I think he's really enjoying leading a program of consequence and all the things that come with it. I know he loved it at UNCG, but hosting recruits in a packed stadium with a top-5 football team has to be fun for him. He embraces the pressure and spotlight and is not afraid to put himself out there in the community and in the media with radio, podcast, and TV appearances. And none of that is because he has a big ego -- he's just a people person who enjoys being a part of something bigger than himself and building that familial atmosphere he was accustomed to at UNC. I can't help but gush when I talk about our coaches. Damn we are lucky right now.

It is awesome to have coaches who see other sports in the Athletic Department as a value to their own, rather than something that takes away from it.

Look it's not like he has to get home to Ashley Love as she is in the Transfer Portal.

You've got such a weird obsession with coaches' wives.

This doesn't apply to just 2024, but dropping it here. Building relationships...

IU Coach was there recently as well. Who is on their roster that we’re looking at?

Have we offered someone from that school?

Not sure if this is new or not but I did know that coaches could Go to workouts. Is this an open recruiting period?

My guess is we were there for the same kid we just haven’t offered before he even played his 1st game in HS.

RE: Basketball Class of 2024
Way, way too much good news from UC these past few weeks for our hometown paper. I opened Cincinnati.com this morning and here was the top-of-page banner sports headline:

Top 2024 Ohioan Tyler McKinley lands Ohio State offer

OSU may not matter. My feeling is Wes, now in partnership with Rayvon, has the inside track here and McKinley may prove to be one of the best prospects ever to come out of Hamilton County. I'm keeping the faith after what we've seen on the recruiting trail this spring.

I'm far from a "recruiting insider" but from what I've read he and Rayvon are very close and it's been implied by some that McKinley wants to play at the next level with him. We'll see, but I'm increasingly optimistic that Wes will break through with a top ten recruiting class in '23 or '24.

If we thought Bearcat sports could never top 2021 for fans, we may be in for a pleasant surprise in basketball and football. It truly is a great time to be a UC fan.

If Miller can lock down Collier in '23 OR McKinnley in '24, paired with Rayvon would be one of the best strings of recruiting wins in a long time here...getting both, which is within the realm of possibility, should blow the roof off of 5th/3rd.

Bolded, that probably blows the minds of X fans too as UC would assert dominance by taking the top recruits locally in successive seasons, dispelling any doubt that Cincinnati still owns hoops tradition in this town.
