The expectation is that they will be accepted and the AAC will grow to a 14-team football league. (Also 14 teams in hoops.)

If this is what’s really happening then I may be done with college football. No way in hell we need 3 more Texas teams. FAU is a shithole and Charlotte has no fans.

This makes little sense. Hopefully this rumor is not true.

About as good as we’re gonna get out of CUSA. Personally I would have liked 4 CUSA and two Sun Belt but oh well. I wanted to take the top off two conferences.

It’s the single fact that makes me question this. I’ve heard UAB and Rice for a long time. No issue there… the rest are a collection of garbage.

Hopefully the voting eliminates N Texas and FAU. Then it only sucks a little.

I am with ya. Add Marshall and I am good with rise three… but N Texas. They literally had more band members than fans at their last game.

UNT is a strange choice considering its proximity to SMU and Metroplex. Does AAC really need two teams in the area? They do have great facilities and a good budget. Their leadership must have made promises concerning their FB team.

It does lock MWC out of Texas and gives AAC some comfort if Big 12 takes SMU.

Think of the positives: you now get to play in 2 empty stadiums in Florida with USF and FAU. Another empty stadium awaits in Houston at Rice. But wait, there's more! You get to play games in Denton, Texas, home of the Denton Wall of Art.

If I'm Memphis and USF I'm begging the Big 12 to speed up their timeline. Wichita probably sending an application to the Big East as we speak.

These are largely horrific additions.

I find it hard to believe the money is there for 14 unless we know more are heading out

Because round two of Big XII expansion will most likely take SMU.

This makes less than zero sense.

why do this. The AAC could have added UAB and been compliant with everything the NCAA and FBS needed. No need to dilute product. If you wanted more in Texas just take Rice, it would be ok to add one bottom feeder as the conference is strong enough to take a single blow. And if you are just adding markets add ODU (they keep eastern teams happy and actually dont hurt basketball prestige). Just no logic to this move. Dont get the double down with NT and why add FAU, they are pretty useless. I suppose UNCC and UTSA are fine but it just seems like they are adding too much dead weight.

Exactly what I wanted. To move conferences and play the same teams.
