This really is sad news for such a great program.

I'm not even sure what to make of that. Compeletely stop the season is unheardof.

Some people have speculated that people dug deep to find any reason to fire GH after the shooting incident and this might have been it.

Sounds like there’s reports of hazing of players bad enough to where a police report was filed. I was liking where we were trending on the court but it appears this coach has no control over the team. Embarrassing.

I really hate this for such a good program as NMSU has been. They have been the class of the WAC for a long time.

It is being reported players were hazing another player. A police report was filed due to the hazing.

What a sad day for the program. On the same note, props to the administration for when the report came to them they acted on it.

I think there will be another massive turn-over in players. That makes it really hard for fans to support a team when in three years the are almost no similar players. The last DI team to stop a season due to hazing that I can remember was UVM and hockey.

The NMSU vs California Baptist game was CBU’s Homecoming. With the game cancelled, CBU is bringing in West Coast Baptist College to play. I believe this also counts as a forfeit by the Aggies.

Welp. At least football is back to being quasi-relevant.

Does it have any thing to do with neon shoes dude? I did not see him vs GCU, but it was hard to tell being that the whole crowd wore pastel/neon, painful to watch. Well I guess this officially settles who will be last place and miss WAC Tourney.

I bet they would not have cancelled season if they were on top in the standings vs the bottom.

Biggest game of the WAC season to date. #1 Utah Valley hosting #2 Southern Utah. SUU won the first round last month with an impressive second, really dominating Utah Valley, who led by 5 at the half.

Things are getting quite heated over on another board the Utah schools use. So if it’s half as intense as the first game was and as heated as the fans are, should be an excellent game. SUU can gain a share of first, or Utah Valley can go up by 2 games on the closest team.

No surprise that Sam won. They are simply the better team. Even though we came out fast and were ahead most of the first half, we went cold and couldn't keep it up. They dominated the paint and shut us down inside.

SAM outplayed us and pulled away with really good defense at the end. It was close for a while but SHSU has all the tools to win big games. Appreciated a comment from a SAM booster who said Moody was probably the nicest place they play all year. It is a great basketball venue, but the food service is slow.

Moody needs more food options.

Not at all. Police report should be public tomorrow, but some sources in the know have said some of the acts were of a sexual nature. That demands an immediate shutdown of the program whether they were 25-0, 0-25 or anywhere in between.

I think they should fire the coach, suspend whoever needs it and play out the season. Shutting down the season punishes every school remaining on their schedule, especially teams who have NMSU at home. Cal Baptist had to bring in a very level school for their homecoming. I’m sure it cost CBU some cash as they were forced to reschedule the homecoming game.
