On ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or ESPN, I think they get more viewers -- but this is The CW, so you have to compare it to other CW shows.

Not sure if this is good ratings or not, but it is usually the 4th or 5th best game in the time slot. Most everybody should get the CW and the broadcast team have always been good, perhaps this is normal ratings for any tier 3 game.

RE: Saturday Ratings: The CW Airs College Football Nationally for the First Time
The ratings for these games have to be viewed from a proper perspective. Most CW stations run reruns of shows like Law & Order or older movies on Saturday. So the close to 800,000 they got for UNC/UVA for example is huge for them. In two years they will have Xfinity races that will bring more sports fans to their network

I am not sure why anyone would be turning on the TV to watch a horrible UVA team take on UNC. But to be fair here are all the other P5 games that were not in the Millions.

1. UCLA @ Stanford 852K - ESPN
2. UVA @ UNC 788K @ CW
3. Wisconsin @ Illinios 603K ESPN
4. Northwestern @ Nebraska 560K BTN
5. Texas Tech @ BYU 545K FS1
6. TCU @ Kansas St 432K ESPN2
7. Rutgers @ Indiana 232K BTN

I would also think that the CW is thrilled with our Tier three games if for the 2022-23 broadcast season, the CW primetime audience averaged 548,000 viewers. That means Primetime ACC FB that is Tier three draws well for them.

Clemson @ NC State draws 642K viewers at 2pm on the CW! It was the most viewers at the 2pm time slot to date and the second most viewers coming in second to the primetime matchup of UVA@UNC!

I hope these figures are pleasing to the CW. They have been getting great tier 3 games and I think people are now starting to check the CW when channel surfing. Clemson was the latest victim to the CW curse coming in as a 10.5 point favorite.

If that's the case, the VT Louisville game should be on CW.

It’s going to be GT @UVA this week. GT is a 2.5 point dog, so take out those second mortgages.

YouTube TV has something called Multiview...sadly the CW game isn't part of it

You can criticize the ACC for a lot of things but the deal with the CW looks like a clear win for the conference.

Unfortunately, a few youtube channels appear to have issues with multiview. I have noticed a few instances of certain channels not mixing. Particularly over the air channels do not appear to multiview with typical pay for cable channels.

It is not just a CW problem.

I agree...as cable cutting continues it is good to have an OTA outlet for our Tier 3.

The RSNs used to be T2 (picked ahead of the old OTA patchwork syndicated network, and that ahead of ESPN3 exclusives). Is it just T3 content on The CW?

Any chance of convincing Disney (or whomever owns ESPN next) they need more than 1 national OTA and some local regionals. Convince ESPN to form a larger partnership with CW for a second national OTA partner airing both ACC and SEC games along with their pay-for-TV cable and streaming channels.

If The CW is willing to pay, I'm sure Disney would be happy to sub-license part of their ACC holdings. It sound like you're talking about acquiring The CW, which is not likely to happen IMHO.

In 2012 the agreement was: The deal will provide premier content to numerous ESPN multimedia platforms, including ESPN, ESPN on ABC, ESPN2, WatchESPN.com, ESPNU, ESPN3, ESPN 3D, ESPN Mobile TV, ESPN GamePlan, ESPN FULL COURT, ESPN Buzzer Beater/Goal Line, ESPN International, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Classic and ESPN.com.

https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-relea...h-2026-27/

The following article broke it down better:

T1- ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC: The networks will televise ACC games each week, including Thursday, Saturday and a Labor Day Monday telecast each season. The ACC Football Championship Game will continue to be televised each year on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC.

T2-ESPNU: The 24hour college sports network, currently distributed in more than 70 million households, will continue to televise ACC football.

T3- Syndication: ESPN will sublicense games to Raycom Sports and potentially to additional national outlets. As part of the agreement, Raycom Sports will produce and distribute a package of games for overtheair syndication and for the first time, an additional package of games through regional cable syndication in the ACC markets and beyond.

T3-ESPN3.com: Exclusive ACC game presentations as well as simulcasts will be offered on the broadband network.

https://wwwcache.wralsportsfan.com/asset...eement.pdf

Here is our Current 2023 TV Channel selection setup:

T1- ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC

T2- ACC Network

T3- THE CW: ESPN will sublicense games to Raycom Sports who produce and broadcast the games for THE CW. (FB, MBB, & WBB)

T3-ACCNX/ESPN+: I think a few games per year vs FCS (like 2 FB games this year)

Quick Fact: With the announcement of the Week 12 game for 2023 times and networks, to date, 21 ACC contests are scheduled for national ABC broadcasts, (The ACC has made 32 appearances on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2 over the first 10 weeks of the season) while the ACC Network will have featured 37 games through 12 weeks.

By the way Duke’s women’s basketball team has two games scheduled for broadcast on ABC. Duke’s men’s basketball team has zero games scheduled for ABC. What’s wrong with this picture?
