Portal time
01-donnankungfu (not quite MC Hammer but it’ll do)

Wayne knight the first one out

He entered the portal to maintain his year of eligibility for this season.

Wonder how that impacts his brother, who has been getting time at wideout all year

Good luck young man, those that stay will be champions! RB5 just moved up to RB4 and onward down the depth chart…07-coffee3

Sorry it didn't work out better for him. Always liked when we had brothers playing together. Best of luck wherever he lands.

RE: Portal time
It's that time of the year, guys are jumping in left and right, hopefully JMU retains what we have and only loses depth pieces that are logjammed at their position.

RE: Portal time
it's going to be ugly this year.

lots of rumors around that a crazy amount of guys are going to enter.

i'm sure it will hit us. just hope it's not so bad.

the WSU QB reportedly already has 5 big time offers of $1m in NIL money.

Not a JMU player, but Mitch Griffis (QB) is leaving Wake Forest as a grad transfer. Not coming here as we have no QB1 opening and probably doesn't want to block his brother's path again.

Well let's hope we don't have a QB1 opening. I'd be surprised if P5 schools aren't already recruiting Jordan. Cig is following a few transfer QBs on twitter

Jordan has transferred twice already. He would have to sit out a year if transferring again.

I'm sure there's a waiver for that 05-stirthepot

You sure? I thought as a graduate transfer he can move freely as long as he graduates from the current school. JT Daniels at Rice is on his 4th school

Our QB1 has already said he'll be back next year. We're fine. (I also don't think he could transfer if he wanted to anyway)

Kind of surprised he transferred, with Lawton and Palmer done after 2023, he definitely had a shot to work himself into the rotation in 2024. Seemed to be a pretty good receiving back similar to Vanhorse. The only game he got carries vs. Bucknell he pulled off a pretty decent. Yamir, his brother, definitely has an opportunity to work himself into the WR rotation in 2024

I don’t blame him wanting to get off the Conway Titanic. The field already looks like it’s taking on polluted water.

I see Yamir Knight getting Phoenix Sproles touches/passes.

I assume that as well. Reggie Brown's spot will probably go to Hudson, Moss, or another underclassmen/transfer

While unfortunate, it is bound to happen.
However, next year is really the one that would be worth staying for. Everything is up for grabs.
As for Knight, I understand the reasons for doing so and wish the guy the best.
The good news is it looks like we may have our best incoming Freshmen class ever.

RE: Portal time
I would think if we are active early in the portal season for P5 transfers (especially grad transfers), that would be a good sign that Coach is staying. Your thoughts may be different, but I just couldn't see Cignetti going after guys with just one season left if he knew he was leaving.
