ECU beat Marshall 13-1 in 5 innings to move to 9-0.

Marshall is ranked 77th by Massey and 50th in ELO. Marshall pitched their ace.

Charlotte went 2-2 over the weekend. Our 2 losses came to Boston U who is now ranked #25 in the D1 Softball poll. The Boston pitcher threw over 400 pitches this weekend including 2 CGs against us. Our 2 wins came over Canisius including a no-hitter by Lena Elkins.

We host #7 Clemson on Wednesday, then head to SC for a tournament vs JMU, #21 South Carolina, & South Alabama. The Niners will certainly be battle tested!!

Mean Green off to a 3-5 start. 0-4 against #14 Missouri and #25 Arizona.

Texas Tech, Minnesota, New Mexico coming into town this wknd

Our women are 2-8 so far this year. We were HORRIBLE last season (8-41), which I think was our worst season ever. We hired a really good coach this year though, but I don't anticipate any major improvements in her first season. I would expect there to be bigger improvements next year though when she has more of the kinds of players she wants on the team.

What struck me about this season is this... Only ONE of our first 27 games will be at home. I don't know if they're renovating the field or what exactly the deal is, but we don't have a home game until the 22nd game of the season, and that'll just be one game because then the next 5 games are on the road again.

Niners rallied late but fell to #7 Clemson last night 8-5.

Memphis doing their thing at 0-10. Probably the worst program in the AAC in all sports is probably Memphis Softball.

Shockers take down Illinois State and #14 Arkansas today at Arkansas.

Wichita State wins 3-1 on the road at #14 Arkansas. Freshman Chloe Barber went the distance and got 15 strikeouts (so 15 of 21 outs) against a Top 15 team on the road.

Wichita State now 5-2 with 2 top 25 wins and only 2 losses are to #8 Clemson and #25 Auburn

WSU wins 1 of 2 on Saturday beating UTA then losing to Arkansas. Today they beat Illinois State 8-1.

Key thing to watch for them. Chloe Barber. Had 15 strikeouts vs Arkansas on Friday which tied a program record, then had 16 today vs Ill State which set the record. So 31 strikeouts in 2 starts over the weekend.

USF goes to 10-5 beating Loyola Chicago, Pitt and Yale

And she is a freshman.

UTSA somehow has a lower RPI than us. So UTSA softball is the UTSA basketball of AAC softball right now. lol
