We are less than a month from the start of softball season. I feel good about where the AAC is as a softball conference, and look forward to following our games. Schedules are out. I'd love to know about any prominent series or tournaments your team will be playing in this year. There are some really solid C-USA6 softball programs joining some good AAC legacy members this year, so maybe we can get a few programs into regionals.

Charlotte opens up with 2 games against FSU down in a Tallahassee Tourney. Last year's National runner up.

We play in the South Carolina tournament vs the Gamecocks and JMU.

Other OOC games: host Clemson, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, At Duke.

High level scheduling, and this team will be battle tested again. We lost a bunch of offense and leadership from last year, but picked up some big bats in the portal. Pitching should be solid again.

Those are some solid games on your schedule. I'll certainly be watching those FSU games if they show up on the +.

Thanks for posting this. I didn't know the Coaches Poll was out yet. But, I do have a problem with the rankings.....

UNT took 4 of 5 games from Charlotte last season. And, North Texas returns 16 letter winners including eight position player starters and three pitchers. 6 of our 8 returning starters were All-Conference players last season. Plus UNT added, All-Conference infielder Kat Ibarra, who posted a .368 batting average hitting in the leadoff spot last season. That gives the Mean Green 7 former All-Conference starters for the 2024 season. I'd have placed North Texas 2nd in the poll and Charlotte 3rd.

First off, if the coaches prognostications are correct then the "usual suspects":Memphis and UTSA: will be dragging our NET conference down.

Secondly, that's only ten. I already knew about Rice and SMU, but it looks like Tulane and Temple don't sponsor the diamond darlings either

UNT will be battle tested by the time conference play starts this season. UNT appears to have 15 games against P5 programs, with 8 being against preseason top 25 programs.

Yes, I am putting the cart before the horse--by a lot--but I will laugh so hard when some CUSA6 teams get the call-up first in the next realignment rodeo. The exit fee wouldn't even be that much because we are only getting a half-share to start with.
