In Florence, AL last year for K State and Alabama game - booth next to me was all Bama - topic came up - bama fans didn't see anything wrong with this at all.

Fans get too emotional about players/teams and get blind to what is happening right in front of them.

They broke the story on Tomlin. They are just as credible as any other news source. And I’ve spoken with someone who used to work for the CA and he says it’s accurate. But there may be others involved. It was a typical Friday news dump. I think the CA and DM are just asleep at the wheel.

The CA and DM, being real journalism, have to verify and list sources. A blog or podcast doesn't require that. They just go with any rumors or friend of a friend report. That doesn't mean they are not correct sometimes. They just don't have the same restraints that legit news gathers have. Think the differences between AP and TMZ. Both break the news but only one has consequents to pay if they are wrong.

Many Memphis fans are rather ‘uniquely provincial ’ in their need for drama—many wanna know all the details of the semi corrupt college sports scene.

You either enjoy college sports or you don’t.

Best park your expectations for all sports ( college and pro) at the door… especially now that widespread gambling is an accepted pastime. Blaming is like spinning your wheels in place.

Next thing I’ll hear is that my degree from Memphis State is no longer any good.. It will be discredited.. My Professors were not real Professors they all had fake degrees.. Oh well I’m retired so I’m good..

It’s because the entire system is a sham. Sorry if you don’t understand that. If you REALLY investigated every program every coach and AD would be fired. And now that they are getting paid legally the flood gates are open even more. Just have them study basketball or football and be done with it

AD trying to leave, can't have this on his resume if he wants to leave.

If what is being discussed behind the scenes is true, its far more than Malcom and involves other athletes in one sport who provided services for athletes in one sport in and around class work for money.

Need to see what comes out, what can be discussed, what can be swept under the rug for a lot of peoples career.

Let's hope it can stay w Malcolm and get this season over and restart next and move on.

True, when I played for Memphis in the 80’s I had classes with a bunch of players of whom I saw the first day of classes and hardly ever again.. I will say this though The Little General rarely missed..

How would Penny know who they paid to do their homework. Are there cameras in the dorms and perhaps their text messages intercepted ?

It’s such a normal occurrence in college — you can buy papers online.
Sheesh back in high school I did all the English and religion homework in exchange for math homework. lol
My math friend bought the tests from the ‘dumb’ kids who ‘xeroxed’ them.

It was called ‘cheating’. Still is.

College sports are a cesspool of corruption. Big $$$ encourages corruption. Whether it’s UNC’s fake classes, recruiting violations such as shoe company deals, etc….

If you claim you don’t know anyone who passed around an old test, copied work or wrote papers for each other, you’re in the very small minority. This seems minimal at this point. We’ll see. But no need to attack from within.

I’m glad some Tiger Nation were never “fans” of me as a player or coach.
