I was a gym rat at msu. Too old for u guys. I met Gene Bartow and his young son in the old field house. I knew Mary Lou John's. The women's bball coach. Her hubby coached at Fairley, how I know..played many games of pool at student center, learned ping pong, table tennis top floor student center, first time I saw a Foosball game was there.i thought I was a hippy, up on highland, all the head shops were there.. Scary!! I helped build the tall library, justI laid a few floor tiles.Loved sitting on the steps of admin building, gone now. Gotta have that win 2morrow!! Who remembers the old teletype machine in admin building, spitting out reams of news print?? I use to go look at it, back in the day!!!

Some may know ir not, the Eldon Roark fieldhouse was were Tigers men bball played games!! I freak out when I see the parking lot is multi level parking garage now. Oh, wkno was next door.. back in the day, there was jr varsity bball. Freshmen had to play one year jv and if good, proceed to senior bball.. strange but true!!

Oh, BTW I saw Don Holcomb, Larry Finch, Eddie Hill at Memphis State.. also Keith Lee, Bobby Parks and one other from the team that played Villinova was that the 1984 team that was not put on sports illustrated mag? The put Villanova, Syracuse and good ole Georgetown on cover, but no MSU!!!

I used to work during the registration so I could pull my class cards early.

Worked the "Security between Gyms" spot, to keep students from going back to the gym floor. That was back when you had to go get a punch card to secure a seat in a class. There was an old woman stationed downstairs in a room with a punch card maker that when they wanted to open a new class, they would send me down to tell her "we need at 30 seat class in Biology 1102 at 10am MWF". She would take a stack of blank IBM punch cards and fan them out with her thumb and count them. I called her out one time and said no way she could count the cards just using her thumb like that. 3 times I gave her a random number and she handed me the correct number of cards. I counted them. Blew my young mind away.

You think kids now a days even know what an IBM punch card is?

Oh yeah, tuition was $457 per semester for 12 hours or more.
