RE: Welcome Preston Spradlin
Impressive interview Spradlin had with Dave.

Seems like a very high character guy, even had a character coach at Morehead to check him in how he handles the program.

He said roster building will be in the following order priority wise.
- Retaining JMU players
- Seeing what guys he can bring in from Morehead
- Bringing in portal veterans
- Bringing in available high school recruits

He seems extremely bought in to what JMU has to offer players and wants to operate the program from a position of strength. Reminds me of Cignetti’s intro presser when he said we lost 4 games the previous year and that was unacceptable given our relative resources.

I hope this is a real home run and we have to worry about losing him in a few years.

RE: Welcome Preston Spradlin
I was kinda wondering why he seemed to struggle at first at Morehead, so I read up on it, and boy, did he take over an impossible situation. The coach he took over for got fired for hitting two players, he was already suspended for shouting at one during a game previously, APR seemed to be an issue, and the whole athletic department certified academically ineligible players and the NCAA put them on blast for it.

While he hopefully won't have those issues here, it's good to know the full background on what he was dealing with as an interim and first year head coach.

With that name, good hair, and accent, I really hope we don't lose him to become a PGA player

With PS’s ties to Kentucky, can he pull a minor miracle and get one of the Wildcats to transfer to JMU?

They're headed to Arkansas with Calipari for all of that NIL $$$ that was promised to get him there.

Why wouldn't they just head to the pros? That's Calipari's end goal anyway. Come to (insert school name here) for a year and then you'll be in the pros and adding to the $3B in salary we've earned.

Maybe after a few years here, he may end up in Kentucky anyway.

Did anyone make it to the meet & great for Coach P on Monday evening at O'Neil? Wondered if they had a good turnout?
