"I want to make one thing very clear to the entire Louisiana Tech Family. At the conclusion of my review and armed with the facts I’ve amassed, I will take the necessary steps and actions to ensure this situation never happens again. I will not allow the integrity of our institution and the reputation of our athletics program to be put at risk, in any way, shape or form. Protecting Louisiana Tech University is of the highest order and is not negotiable."
Sounds like our president may be getting ready to take it to the Liberty bowl for lying to our AD and costing us a bowl spot.
Our AD and the WAC Commish have both said, repeatedly, that the Liberty Bowl Exec said "We are going to take LaTech regardless of who's available tomorrow" Then turned around and took ISU. I haven't seen any rebuttal or denial from Liberty Bowl of their claims and if true I hope the NCAA hangs 'em for it.

I'm no attorney, but as Judge Wapner used to say, "Did you get it in writing?" If not, I doubt there is much recourse.

No doubt verbal agreements are harder to enforce/pursue, but maybe we can make them sweat. Also NCAA doesn't have to go through legal channels, they can enforce what they want, when they want, since these bowls operate by their consent/approval.

It sounds like the bowls played La Tech as a back up plan and the AD let it happen. Nobody to blame but himself.

Let me say first that organizations should follow up their "word" with doing what they said they would do. I'm not doubting what the WAC commish or LTU AD is saying, but none of us yet know exactly what was actually said or what was said in any follow-up conversations.....and we may never know. Lots of black eyes to go around the table in this.

Your AD is a university official. I have had my little disagreements with the Tech nation but in this situation must agree that they were really sold out by an insider. Now, I will retract that statement if there is any proof forthcoming from the WAC commissioner or anyone else to confirm the Lib Bowl DID tell them Tech would get an invite regardless. So far, no one has come forth, have not heard from WAC comm nor Lib folks.

If the Lib bowl told the Tech AD, orally or in writing that Tech would be invited regardless, and witnessed by the WAC comm then that is a legal contract which should have been honored. I would support any school under those circumstances. I am, however, wondering why the Lib bowl or WAC comm hasnt come forward and elaborated. There were three parties involved which included Tech AD, Lib Bowl, and WAC comm. The only one we have heard from or who tells this story in the Tech AD. Wonder why the delay.
