Right. The AAC will get its pick of the litter first.

Wont matter much by that point. All the bowls left will more or less be the same.
NOT FAIR..... C-USA should not lose a bowl to the AAC.

It isn't really working out the way the AAC fans hoped it would. Reports out of CUSA spring meetings suggest six primaries and two secondaries for CUSA, which is close to what the conference has now and therefore doesn't recommend a lot of change. I've reported this before in CUSA and AAC forums, but most of CUSA's bowl partners have long term relationships with the conference and all except Hawaii are in the conference's footprint. This coupled with the AAC's apparent fluidity means a lot of CUSA's bowl partners are staying put in this bowl cycle. The two most likely to move on are New Orleans and Liberty. The former wants more from CUSA than they are likely to get while the latter is convinced it will have the AAC's no 1 team (CUSA's no 1 is likely to move to the conference-owned Heart of Dallas Bowl against B1G no 7).

Six primaries and 2 back-up represents an increase for CUSA. The CUSA schools and CUSA conference those bowls had relationships with are quite different after 2013, so I wouldnt count my chips just yet. I dont think anyone really knows how this will shake out.

That said, it doesnt matter. The bowls that are left are pretty much all the same. Personally, I think the AAC will end up with plenty of bowls--my concern is that they might all kinda suck. Even in a worst case senario where we only end up with 2 or 3 bowls (I think Aresco would probably have to punch every bowl director in the eye for that to happen), the conference will simply enter into a back up agreement with virtually every power conference bowl in its footprint. That allows those bowls access to AAC teams risk free. Sure, it will be much riskier for AAC schools in the "at large" pool, but I doubt many bowl eligible AAC teams will ever get left out in the cold if we have a ton of back-up arrangements.
