I’ve heard this from others and I find it hard to believe he just blatantly lied. Did he lie or did situations change which forced him to make a move earlier than planned? Usually folks that graduate with a law degree from Harvard and a Masters degree from Columbia are intelligent enough not to have to “lie their azz off.”

The latter.

Basically he explained it. The CA knew he was leaving and asked him to keep it under wraps. It got out and he was doing verbal gymnastics saying he never knows what the future holds, yadda, yadda, yadda.

People who care about another person’s professional/personal life when it has no direct bearing on them need to get a life. If anything, people who care enough to make this a big deal probably just want an excuse to crap on Calkins anyway.

Chris Herrington didn’t say he was gone until after he was gone. I’m guessing that’s how Calkins wanted to do it.
