My cousin has mentioned issues that both he and his son have had with the system in handheld and dock mode with occasionally massive skipping, draw distance, and framerate issues and I just want to see if it's them alone or if it has happened with any of you all as well. Seems like a big issue if it is already having an issue for a game built for last gen consoles.

Outside of that they are loving it in handheld mode, but my cousin has said a few times that you should buy it expecting a graphically superior 3DS with a docking station and not as a home console, because you'll be disappointed if you do. Seems like that sentiment is shared by Purp at least given his initial thoughts and the wide comps to 3DS instead of his PS4.

I am playing it on the Switch and unless there is a massive amount of wavy grass I haven't seen to many frame rate issues. No excuse really, as this thing was delayed to be a flagship release for the Switch. I can't say the issue persists in portable mode ( which down converts to 720p from 900p) as the stuff i did today in portable mode I wasn't near any massive amounts of grass like that.

As for the draw distance.... not very much-- on objects in the distance getting "loaded" when looking that way.

IMO, the graphics for BotW are something the WiiU would have issues running fully so I would say yes, the Switch is a home console graphics wise. It completely smokes the res of the 3DS...then again the 3DS is in 3D and is smaller and more portable so... Its not as pocket friendly as the 3DS though... but the experience of the home play transitioning to portable play doesn't miss a beat...
