I'm glad its only that much. If we would have fired him it would have been more. It does cause a problem for the basketball hire. By the time we find an AD most of the good candidates may be gone.

Not really. paying him 1.3 mil is like paying him $260,000 a year for 5 years. Which, if I remember correctly is pretty close to his salary.
