Doubtful. As much as I am disappointed in Montgomery's performance to date, he needs to be reassured that his job is safe for at least the upcoming year. He guaranteed a bowl game - if he delivers he earns another year, otherwise I'll consider his guarantee a conditional resignation.

I think he's not the one that needs to be reassured. It's us that needs to be assured that he knows what he's doing.

Just saying he doesn't need to go into the year feeling that the new AD has already made his mind up regardless of what Mo does. Plus a coaching change mid-season would be more disastrous than letting Mo coach out the year.

In full disclosure, I fully expect him to be gone.

He has not shown anything in his first two years that would indicate that there is hope for a good outcome in year 3. It is not mid-season. They haven't even gotten to Summer camp yet.
