Lucy: Money talks ... you know the rest.

The reason that non-revenue sports don't produce revenue is because no one cares.

XX2...

One of the first things you will learn in the ACC...

"When you are adrift in a sea of mediocrity...you
grab on to what you can!"

Being from Florida...where Football is the measuring
stick...you will see quite a lot of this type of whining.

It's like the new Q & A in the State of Florida...

"What has made the Gaytors such great Basketball
fans?"

ANSWER: Florida State and Miami Football

I can't help it that you Floridians can't comprehend more than one sport.

Come now people, my dad is a native Floridian and he says it all the time. Going back to his days at Pensacola HS in the late 50s, he said everyone had tunnel vision towards football. Other sports just didn't exist in the minds of the locals. He laughs about being told by some teammates that being a military brat clouded his mind because he didn't think football was supreme (and he'd never lived anywhere but Pensacola at that point  ).

My folks live in Orlando now and Mom is thankful that at least there people know & talk basketball...

MsNole Wrote:Lucy, you and I both know that times have changed.  Floridians have 2 pro baseball teams, 2 pro basketball teams and 3 pro football teams, plus all the baseball teams that winter in Florida and the 3 major colleges and UCF and USF, etc., etc., etc!!!  :D
That's exactly my point! With the wide variety of sports going on down there, it just amazes me the rut that so many sports fans in the state of Florida get into only talking college football.

Y'all know I just love to rattle your cages every once in a while...  (hmmmm, must ask GTS to add my favorite smilie here.)

Terpy, I don't know about the rest of the Floridians, but I prefer college baseball over pro. Sometimes, though, I will watch a little of the St. Louis Cardinals with J.D. Drew and Eduardo Perez.
