The US destroyed defending world champs Serbia today by 18.

The key for the US is so painfully and obviously defense that it isn't even funny. Good defense leads to the US transition game, where they can't be stopped. That also does not let the opposition set up their zone and exploiting their outside shooting weakness.

If the US plays intense defense, they should win the gold.

And the best team besides the US is Argentina. They are the only team that can hope to beat the US at their best IMO.

Serbians are introduced to basketball at a younger age because they are not as soccer crazy as the rest of Europe. They also had Stojakovic and Divac through the world championships, and don't have them now. They will still compete for a medal. My prediction is:

Gold: US
Silver: Argentina
Bronze: Serbia
