LL, I have posted two threads trying to get you. I am going to bed. I get up at 4am if you want to play then.

It's 10:36 PM and I just beat Laettner's Legacy, 2 games to 0. So I am 1-1 in my POD. What happens if rickheel (1-0) does not meet LL (0-1)?

rickheel and LL - can one of you give me the time stamps of the PM's rickheel sent to LL on Monday?
If they fall after 7 PM I am going to award rickheel the victory because that is the time both of you were available and the time stamp will be documented evidence that one of you made an attempt to be there for the games.

Testiclees:
I did the best I could man. I admit that I should have clarified a rule up front. I expected that the people I paired together with similar availability times would actually be available at those times. Silly me.
I am more than open to suggestions for the next time we do a tournament of this sort.
Sorry you had to come out on the losing end of this one.

Even though I lost to rickheel, I wish I got something in return for making my match with LL. If rickheel advances because of scheduling difficulties, then my efforts at successfully scheduling a game with LL AND beating him was all for naught. What a waste of time.

Upon further review, it does appear that Testiclees did make himself more available to play games. Unfortunately NavyDoc had serious scheduling issues this week. ND, I hope you understand man.
Testiclees wins that pod.
End of discussion.

My standard for determining a winner between rick and LL will be consistent with what I have used on the rest of these problems. In the event that we have a 3 way tie at (1-1) I will award you a victory based on the fact that you showed up for both games.
I apologize to everyone who thinks this wasn't run properly. I am more than open to suggestions on ways to make it better for next time.

Well, LL hasn't provided me with the info I need and rick gave me pretty convincing evidence that he should be awarded the victory...so, rickheel beats LL.
Rickheel will also win the pod. Sorry tdb.

I'm eliminated from the tournament because someone else couldn't schedule -- totally out of my control. Thanks, LK. Great system you've got going here.
According to your rules, this tournament is not only based on skill, but also heavily on the luck in drawing players to your POD that actually show up for games that aren't even directly against yourself in the first place.
I understand you're trying to make this fun for everyone and as fair and consistent to your rules as possible, but give me a break. Anyways, good luck to you, rickheel, and the others. Good thing there's no more PODs, or else I pity those poor souls who could suffer the same fate as me.

Hey tdb - if you had actually beaten rickheel this wouldn't even be an issue.
YOU controlled your own destiny.

LK, there shouldn't be potential for an issue to arise in the first place. Hmmm... I wonder whose fault that'd be.

This is PoohTerp. Please allow me to say something in LK's defense. This was the first of this type of challenge we have posted here. By that, I mean that it's the first that required signups, matches, etc. We knew that this type of challenge would be difficult because of everyone's mixed schedules. Nonetheless, we ran the challenge anyway because everyone wanted to play more than single player games.
Another challenge to creating new challenges is that it's sometimes very hard to think every detail and scenerio through when posting the original rules. Circumstances arise and rules sometimes need to be changed or added.
We're doing our best here to offer fun and entertainment in the off-season in this forum. I appreciate the help I'm getting from Larry, LK, UDC and Baked right now because I cannot run every challenge personally.
So, everyone, let's take a deep breath and move forward.
TBD... LK is graciously offering his spot in the tournament to you, if you would like it. Please post and let us know if you would like to proceed in his place.
Thanks to everyone for understandign that we're doing the best we can. This is for fun.. not for Big Game proceeds.. do let's just have fun.
