You certainly can be an ass or you would understand that I think there are several things going into the warming. However, you guys seem to not even understand the concept of global warming in terms of the "green house effect so you dismiss it completely. Maybe you guys should get out of "Creationism" studies in Bible school and learn actual science. 05-stirthepot

Do you mean the quantized absorption of radiation, described by the overlap integral between the ground state wave function and the excited state wave function (the wave-functions primarily derived from the highest occupied molecular orbital, with the ground state referring to the lowest vibrational levels of the ground electronic state, and the understanding that there is a large distribution within the rotational spread within those vibrational levels) with the transition moment operator operating between the two (the permanent electric dipole moment being the first and most prominent term in a Taylor series expansion of the tensors that describe the interaction between the oscillating fields of electromagnetic radiation and the molecule being used as the transition moment operator)? And after the absorption of the radiation, the employment of the equipartition theorem to determine the functional relationship of the amount of energy that flows from vibrational energy to kinetic energy via the process of internal vibration relaxtion, ultimately changing the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution of molecules, which in turn defines the macroscopic quantity of temperature.

You mean that understanding?

Global warming is naturally happening because the sun is naturally getting older, using up the hydrogen during its thermonuclear reactions, and eventually will go to red giant phase at which time we would be done for. Luckily thats 4 million years away, and we most likely will die of gamma rays from a hypernova before the sun dies. Another option is when the Milky Way collides with the Androma galaxy and the Androma "devours" the Milky Way. So basically, we can speed up global warming maybe by a few thousand years, but it really doesnt matter because thats not how the earth is going to end.

FWIW, I choose death by gamma rays. All that will happen is the sky basically turns dark, the rays go through us, completely incinerate us, and its over. Very painless.

Tell that to Bruce Banner.
