Big East football got a bad wrap from the beginning. Conversely, Big East basketball was overrated...if you use the NCAA Tournament as a measuring stick. I do.
No. Obviously you use one criteria and one criteria ONLY, and that is NCAA championships. We've had several posters over the past few years say that the Big East is falling short in terms of NC teams.
If you were using the NCAA tournament as a whole as a measuring stick, you'd know there was no need to resurrect a three-year old thread to try and do some uncalled for chest-thumping since the league far and away surpasses any other conference over the past five years in tourney wins. It's not even close.
Btw, you do realize that this year's championship is still ongoing, right? And that WVU still has a shot to fix the one hole in the Big East's resume over the past 5 years, right?

BIG EAST
Georgetown - DC TV Market
Marquette - Milwaukee TV Market
Saint John's - NYC TV Market
DePaul - Chicago TV Market
Seton Hall
Providence
Villanova - Philadelphia TV Market
Notre Dame - National Program
Dayton
Xavier - Cincinnati TV Market
Eastern 10
South Florida - Tampa-St. Pete Market
West Virginia
Rutgers - NYC TV Market
Cincinnati - Cincinnati TV Market
Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh TV Market
UConn - Hartford TV Market
Syracuse
Louisville
Central Florida - Orlando TV Market - Fans are jackwads
Temple - Philadelphia TV Market
Tweak the name a little from “Eastern 10” to “Eastern X” and instead of Central Florida for Orlando TV market replaces them with UMass for Massachusetts’ market. Normally a city or local region market deliver by basketball program, the state of Florida saturated with 4 BCS football and national basketball program in University of Florida, so elevating one more program will never draw enough support to justify their presence in this over saturated Florida market. The main objection is recruiting in the state of Florida. It is tough enough for our members as it is ... adding another BCS program to the list.
The buy-in fee for Temple should be 40% of their share for at least 10 years and any time their attendant drop below 30k and additional 5% of their share pay to the league.
Now, the buy-in fee for UMass should be 60% of their share until they upgrade their football to FBS then their fee be reduce to 40% with the same penalty of additional 5% of their share pay to the league for all member.
Having 9 FB / 10 BB is not a problem for scheduling football (4/4 balance conference games) and 18 BB conference games.

The BE has 4 final four participants since the 2005-06 season, starting with Louisville in 2006. But please answer my question as to why you didnt bump this thread at the end of last season. Its obvious that you have been keeping track of the BE. So I would really like to know why.
Actually UofL made the F4 in 05, the yr before start of play in the BE. I love this thread resurrection, though! The BE hasn't won a 'ship in its new configuration, but did manage to set 3 records last season: 3 #1 seeds, 5 Sweet 16 teams, and 4 Elite 8 teams. I'll take it...

OK. Thanks for setting the matter straight.
You've never really worried about FACTS, have you? Who looks foolish now, my friend?
I won $200 tonight on UT making the Elite Eight...and I can't stand UT.
This isn't about an agenda. It's simply about having common sense and calling out fools. It's not really that hard on message boards...especially those on which cuseroc regularly posts.
Pull up the years old thread about Memphis being a #1 seed if you really want a laugh. I busted up cuseroc for about six weeks on that one. Somebody should have thrown in the towel on that guy years ago. He's fighting with one hand tied behind his back or something. It's simply not fair debating that guy.

Haha. You havent won any debate here dummy. In case you are too stupid to notice, everyone is disagreeing with you here.
But, I will ask you again. Why didnt you bump this thread after last season, when the "overated" BE set all of those records in the ncaa tourney, most Sweet 16 teams, most Elite 8 teams, most #1 seeds, and the most ncaa tourney units earned in one season by a conference etc..? Why not answer the question? Calling me names and talking about something that happened 4 or 5 years ago will not deflect the debate at hand that you have already lost. You did yourself no favors by bumping this thread and starting up with me, because you look really dumb and petty and stupid. You are a sad little man.
But we alll know why you wont answer the question. Its counterproductive to your argument that the BE is "overated". Now after only a year of setting all of those records in the ncaa rourney, all of a sudden, you think you're right about the BE being overated, because we are having a bad season in the tourney? And you wonder why everyone is calling you out, dummy?

The ONE hole? I'd say there are two holes. The greatest conference in the history of college basketball hasn't WON a championship. That's a hole. Also, it's never even PLAYED for a championship. That's a bigger hole.
Conferences don't win championships. Teams win championships.
