No joke... this is the weakest pissing match I've ever seen... It's like nobody knows who to piss on. If I had to guess though, the main 'pissers' are feeling a bit sheepish after the lack of BE invitations so far today.

After the last several months, I don't think most of them have anything left in the bladder.

Haha, this is the best idea ever. Why has no one thought of this before. We can contain the Internet sissy-slap fights to a single thread instead of every single one.

LET THE SISSY SLAP FIGHT COMMENCE.

Those are your logical choices. Now pick one!

It was recently said by a Georgetown donor that these were the markets that would be willing to add the Big East Network as a tier 1 package.

The shaded area is what ECU can provide.
Here's the link to that.

"Every cable provider
in the state of North Carolina along with cable providers in the
Tidewater and Richmond areas of Virginia have expressed interest in
providing a Big East Network channel on basic / tier 1 cable status."

Here's another bit from that article...
"Areas around and within Tampa and Orlando have expressed interest in
providing a Big East Network channel on basic / tier 1 cable status;
however other areas in Florida have expressed little to no interest. "

Hey cool it's the map I made.

Temple:

- #4 TV market
- Fantastic academic school (I dont care what US News says), especially for graduate school (law, business, medicine, dentistry, podiatry, art, criminology)
- 37K students and growing. 2nd largest university in Pennsylvania (7K fewer students than Penn State, nearly 10K more students than Pitt)
-Nearly 270K living alumni, most of which are in the Philadelphia metro area, as well as other areas within the BE footprint like NY/NJ, Washington D.C., and Florida.
-Most diverse university in the country
-Largest computer center of an university in the country
-Recent campus and facilities additions include a $76.5M art school building, $80M business school building, and a multi-million dollar upgrade of our football weight room.
-On-going additions include a $50M renovation of our basketball facility, which will add practice courts for both women’s and men’s basketball teams, additional academic support facilities for student athletes, additional athletic facilities for students, restaurants, and retail space. This should be completed by next year.
-Future additions may include a renovated or brand new football practice facility with more space and an indoor facility in addition to our current outdoor facility. An on-campus stadium is within the realm of possibility, but will take 3-5 years to complete because of fund-raising, and political issues surrounding something of this magnitude in Philadelphia.

- Temple 20/20, a 10 year, $1.2 billion project to completely revamp our campus with brand new academic buildings, a new library, additional student housing to meet current and future demand, significantly more green space, new restaurants and businesses, potentially including a restaurant by internationally renowned Philadelphia restaurateur (and Temple alum), Stephen Starr.

- #6 all time in wins for a college basketball program behind only Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, and North Carolina
-#14 all time in winning %
-Tied with UConn, Marquette, Illinois, and Texas for #12 in NCAA Tournament appearances.
-Tied for #18 for women's NCAA Tournament appearances (can't find wins or winning percentage, but we're probably top 25-30)
-History with almost every current member of the BE
-Despite an overall football history that is not particularly stellar, we have had several notable players and coaches who have been successful at the next level.
-By all accounts, from media outlets across the country, we are a program on the rise and truly oozing with potential. We sit in a very fertile recruiting ground in South Jersey, and Eastern and Southeastern Pennsylvania, as well as a short drive from other recruiting areas like Central and North Jersey, Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Just curious since I didn't watch much big east when it happened, but how well did temple do in the big east when they were in re: wins and attendance? Im just wondering how much potential is really there.

I remember his kickoff return against USM the year y'all beat us in OT in Hattiesburg. It was a blur.

I also remember DeAndre's 97 yard TD against ECU his freshman year. It was a blur.

While my school was a former member of the OAC (now a division 3 conference) and has loses to such colleges as Wooster, Denison, Kenyon, Western Reserve, Central Kentucky, Marietta, Columbus Barracks, and Ohio Medical (including several shutouts) I still think it's the best candidate. While we lost just as badly to Florida as UC, we fit in the footprint and will bring in some TV dollars.

Sorry couldn't resist. 04-cheers
