Bit, only include "Some" Card fans...I would rather see Temple then Memphis...they bring absolutely nothing to the table but some in our fanbase are somewhat blinded by them.
Not completely true, just not enough; but I will not peddle Memphis. If the choice is between Memphis and Temple this league is in TROUBLE, long term.
One could say the same thing about Memphis. Both programs have similar basketball histories and similar fb histories. Temple has a much better academic profile that fits the BE and its in the northeast, right in the BE true footprint and is also located in a top 5 tv market. I realize that Memphis may have a larger fanbase, but if we are talking about markets, I would much rather have 10% of Temples tv market than 50% of Memphis.

I was saying both dude not one or the other; I have resided on the fact Memphis is going no where and may be done as far as FB is concerned not too long from now, as well as a lot of other 2nd tiers. It is too bad but reality.

RE: Raiding ACC
Well then the Big East should go after the ACC as hard as possible, and make a backroom offer to Texas A&M to guage their interest in being included as a package deal of some sort with Missouri and Kansas.
Here should be the list of potential candidates in no particular order, and this is just based on all sports mainly football just for you Bit.
Georgia Tech
Texas A&M
Kansas
Clemson
Florida State
Maryland
Missouri
KSU ( if their tied to Kansas )
Boston College ( I wouldn't, but some may like to have them back )
ECU ( the only CUSA team I want, and they would give us a huge present amongst the Carolina's )
So there are 10 teams IMO who should be interested especially with the money that the Big East would be able to offer if a deal is swung like the Pac 12 just did or better.

I would rather have Memphis than UCF. Then again I would rather anyone than UCF. I'll take Appy State or Georgia State over Mickey Mouse U.

RE: Raiding ACC
If we are able to get FSU and Clemson, why on earth would we add ECU? That's like saying we could get Iowa, but rather let's go after Iowa State. Actually it's not even like that because ISU is a BCS school.

Taking ECU, after getting FSU and Clemson, would be a great way to really stick it to the Tobacco Road consortium. It would be like thumbing our nose at them. ECU would be a better choice than Iowa State too. ISU would never be able to compete in BEast football, while ECU could. ECU also happens to be in the east, which would do far more to generate an eastern audience than a team in Iowa. ECU has more fans too. ISU compared to Iowa, is like comparing Marshall to WVU...

RE: Raiding ACC
FWIW, I'm not going to say much about this likelihood on either the general BE forum nor the expansion forum, but I'm personally of the opinion that we have a snowball's chance in hell of convincing any of the current ACC schools of joining the Big East unless something drastic (death penalty or expulsion) happens to Miami. While I believe there is a very real chance that the Big East could end up with a more lucrative TV contract for a period of time, I don't think it will be enough to convince a school to change affiliations.
That said, I think it's funny that half of the Coastal Division is likely to be on probation within the year. Kind of smacks of the old Southwest Conference. I'm imagining a future where Duke wins the division because they're the only ones eligible for postseason play.

I agree USF fan, but, conversely, I think our members would be absolutely stupid to leave for the ACC.

I think the biggest blow is if the ACC loses 1or 2 teams to SEC. Couple that with Miami on probation will make some of them to think the move.

Yes Cuban, but I'm sure the ACC teams won't think about that until it happens.

I want Kansas, Kansas State and Maryland. Screw BC and the rest of The ACC.

Don't forget UNC will be joining Miami on probation as well.

You're right, Carlos. I did mean GT. But I had irrelevant schools in the ACC on my mind, and had a brain fart...

RE: Raiding ACC
I would take BC...they fit our footprint and they did help UC get into the BE from what I read.
i would also take KU, KSU, and Maryland.
Sure I'd love Clemson, FSU, etc but of the schools that are being talked about KU, KSU, Maryland, and/or BC seem to be the one's we would have the best shot at.
