RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
I'll continue watching, simply because I've come this far. But as mentioned above, I was pretty disappointed in the finale. To be honest, since that episode where Tyreese died, it's been pretty poor. Also like mentioned above, I wish they'd go back to the cure topic a little bit. But, like I said, I'll keep watching.

There hasn't been any further discussion of how it started or how to end it since Eugene's lie. Thats a huge mistake for a zombie show. The plot is meandering and the excuses for narrative arcs we have gotten since then are pointless and repetitive, just as the Verge article discussed. There's absolutely no point to the story as the original premise has been functionally abandoned.

Season 1 was also the last time Frank Darabont was involved, and it very clearly shows. I hate the way AMC has turned this show into a soap opera in a lame zombie setting. Every episode is as pointless as a soap opera episode and the writing is just as bad.

All it takes is watching a well executed (or even moderately well executed) serial drama like Breaking Bad, GoT or even The Expanse to see how godawful the walking dead writing is.

The reason people speak with such venom about it is because we can all see how great it could be if it were handled correctly. That is really frustrating.

Yeah, this is the main issue for me. I hate seeing something that could be so good just end up being mediocre. Waste of potential. Breaking Bad was one of the best TV shows in history imo. And Game of Thrones is near the top, though it occasionally has it's own version of subpar writing, but still it's a ways above just about every other show on TV. Plus the production quality is obviously well above everything else.

Why? Just because some fans don't watch any more? If people don't like watching. Watch something else. Hell you stopped watching years ago....

so why are you worried about the end game? Why do the 15 to 20% of the fans that don't watch the show any longer care? Or think just because they don't like it they get to decide how long the other 80 to 85% get to watch?

Because it comes to a point where you pick your end or the end is picked for you. Announce the next season as the last and let's end this on a high note and not a whimper like 2.5 Men.

If we look at it like that ECU football should just call it quits and the same for Western's basketball. Both schools are sliding down hill. That will be the same points our larger more powerful state schools would take.

Over 16 million people each week still watch the show and those 16 million are still invested in this show. That might drop to 14 million next year or maybe not. But just because a couple million people believe the show is no longer enjoyable....

there's still 16 million that says it is or if you drop another 2 mil..14 million. So just like those state schools don't get to say what enjoyment ECU and Western get out from watching our schools play....

you few people that don't watch the show any longer or see it as a value. Don't get to say what course this show takes.

Let the rest of us enjoy the show as we see it and the rest of you no longer invested in TWD find you something else

Except that's not how it works for sports. TV is much different than sports.

It starting getting strange and hard to follow mid-season last year. The characters aren't very likeable and the storyline is all over the place. I gave up at that point.

Agree!!! I've tried to give it a chance, over and over, but I can't seem to get into any of the characters. It's chaotic. The characters are bland and the storyline is just too tough to embrace.

It's a dud.

This last episode of Fear was badass. Rivals any episode of TWD, imo. They thinned out the dead weight characters. It's shaping up pretty well this season. And I was right along with you guys after last season. Seriously debated even bothering with it this season.

I will admit that this week's episode was one of their best. I wouldn't put it up there with the best of TWD but on the FTWD scale, it was near their top. Will they sustain that level? I guess we'll see. I'll likely watch the next episode just to see if maybe they'll turn this show around. I'm very doubtful tho...

Same here...

only two months into this (breakout) and we have seen the transformation of a stereotype West Coast family change from their liberal views into survival mode where anything goes if you are protecting your family. I didn't care for the direction they took Nick in last season and it's not realistic to think they would meet back up like they did...

but it's a TV show and I watch it as just that and understand some things are going to move faster or not real life, like.

That episode was the best one of the entire series so far. Mainly on the strength of Ruben Blades chops. He was phenomenal.

Now if they can please just kill off Nick. His teenage receding hairline is killing me almost as much as his angst. This coming from a bald guy.

It's almost like they targeted teenage kids with this series but heyzeus on a unicycle I couldn't wait until Chris was dead.

FTWD has been very good. This show has come a long way. Reuben Blades has been phenomenal. His character has become one of my favorites. Excited about TWD tomorrow.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
Could have ended the war if they'd shut up and sprayed the guys right after they came out the door. Could have ended the war if as soon as Neegan asked about his pants, Gabriel opened fire on the him. Could also have saved himself instead of helping a traitor/coward.

They schemed and planned and built all over the area to prepare for this war, which seemed to take a modicum of intelligence, only to look like total idiots in their execution. It's like when a guy fights 50 walkers one episode and comes out clean and then dies to one the next episode that meanders right up to him.

I've been a supporter of the show the whole time but I'm finally getting fed up with their lack of respect for their audience. I was not impressed with this episode, at all. Rick spent 20 minutes trying to hit Neegan behind armored cover. He talked to him out in the open for 10 minutes. Kill his ass and THEN give his Lt.s a chance to surrender. I'm guessing they aren't all Neegan once they see the actual Neegan with a new ******* where his forehead used to be.

I thought the same thing, but where does the show go if they killed off Neegan.

I do understand the conversation out in the open w/ Neagan and the LTs. In a way I thought they avoided gunfire to protect Dwight as their asset. To me, it seemed more as a show of force similar to what Neagen did to them on many occasions including the counting down. I just read in that they had no illusions of ending it right there.

On the other hand, I had a massive problem when Rick opened fire on the group when counting down. How does a guy with amazing accuracy miss every single person? When Neagen was down on the ground there were so many gaps in the cover yet Rick missed him completely round after round.
