Oh, I believe Carl will die as well, however, Gimble didn't say that Carl would die on The Talking Dead. He was careful with his words when asked if Carl was going to die.... he said something like "it'll play out as you might think" or something like that.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
They've been doing this savior **** for too long, badly. Don't need our heroes to make bad choices to extend a plot arm as long as possible. It's time to wrap this up and move on. If they don't get some closure on this by season end, I'm probably done. Have to be real convincing why not for me to consider sticking around. This is twice as long the governor crap and they got out of cannibal central in 2 episodes and a season break. I need that win and move on to the next adventure. I understand there will always be suppression by bigger and badder groups. But they gotta let the guys come up for air once in a while or it just isn't interesting.

They promised the season premier would be fast moving and resolve a lot of the open story threads, NOT, the season premier has been as slow as the rest of season 8 not seeing much reason to continue watching this CRAP STORM. Episodes keep getting worse, I'm about done with TWD, I guess I'll finish out season 8

Well...yeah. I knda agree the pace was pretty slow for 1:26 minute episode, but I figured it would be a slow goodbye to Carl (which it was). Hopefully, we get the series back on track now. There is the potential for this to be a really fun season to watch. lol....Im just glad whiney wimpy Carol is gone--and bad azz Carol is back.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
For those upset about people bitching about the show and why don't we just quit watching, there's a lot of years invested there. We watch to see if there's a hint of improvement to justify wasting 7 years of riding the show. Not that we didn't get entertainment bang for the buck, but need resolution of some kind. An epic tale type series needs a beginning and an end. I'd like for this one to end, however they choose to do so.
Lost ended. It was a good ride but they knew there wasn't much more they could do with it. The finale was atrociously bad and most people hated it. Still they got closure and could put it way.
Dexter, Breaking Bad, Justified, many more and even GoT, which will be ending soon, all found a way to bring it to an end. 5-7 seasons maybe even 8 pushing it is long enough to tell the tale and let people move on. Any more than that and all you have is people just waiting around for the show to end without any attachment to it. This one has peaked. They can change stuff from the comics. Let them beat the saviors set up their cities and rebuild society and call it a day. That's my wish for the show. More likely they'll keep running it into the ground.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
For me it's not so much the show itself it was the hype the showrunner gave leading up to the season premier. It was promised to be fast moving, it wasn't. It promised to resolve many of the concurrent storylines, it didn't. To me it's more about the expectations the showrunner sets for an episode, if it wasn't hyped then turns into a big nothing I wouldn't have the same disappointment.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
I thought the showrunner said this 2nd half to season 8 would be fast paced and a lot of storylines would be tied up. You had someone that's been part of the show since day one and a important part and you expected them to fast pace his death? Three storylines were cleared up last night.
Carl's death
King Ezekiel was freed
Morgan is completely back
I would be interested to hear what you though would go down last night? When the first half of season 8 ended you had Rick and 15 or 20 others from Alexandria escape to a tunnel and Carl bitten. You had the Saviors in complete control of Alexandria and burning it down
You had King Ezekiel's compound in control of the Saviors and half of the compound dead and Ezekiel captured
Hilltop was the only compound still together
So how could have this been shown any different?
Did you want them to just kill Carl off in 5 minutes? Did you want the 15 or 20 down in the tunnel to walk out and fight 30, 40, 50 of the Saviors without the weapons to do so? I think the only fight Rick's group could have fought was the one they showed....Carol & Morgan freeing King Ezekiel. I would think most fans of the show knew Carl's death was going to be slow paced.
Now they really do need to wrap up the fight with the Saviors in the next two or three shows since almost every compound is destroyed and the Saviors are weak.

Carl's death was a given, not really something I took issue with
King Ezekiel was freed somewhat predictable without his leadership of what's left of the Kingdom don't see how the story could play out with Saviors defeat
Morgan is completely back back for now he's leaving by season's end for FTWD, question is will he be killed off or just walk away from the fight?
Bigger questions: Will the garbage people double cross Rick again or help? Will Eugene continue to help Negan? What is Rick's plan to beat Negan with Carl gone and Alexandria lost?

If Morgan is killed he couldn't cross over to FTWD. He'll just walk away in some form or fashion.

I always thought FTWD was several years earlier than the TWD. It started at the original outbreak as well and has far fewer seasons. It will be interesting if the timelines are merged.

Apparently the midseason premiere ratings were the worst ever for the show.

My family enjoyed it then again we just sit back and enjoy the episodes knowing that a show about Zombies jumped the shark day one being about Zombies. Agree WKUYG.

I wonder if the weak AMC lineup is hurting it. I used to watch several series on AMC. Not anymore. TWD and FTWD. Thats it. If you dont watch AMC you might not even know the series has started up again. Happens to me all the time on other shows on other networks. That said, I know people that left after the episode Glen was killed off and never returned.

Wonder how much the return of Homeland hurt viewing for TWD? Homeland is a much better show than TWD now.
