RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
At least they finally killed the Negan nonsense. Too bad they lost half their audience before they realized that it was far too drawn out and should've ended a year ago.

I’m sure you’re probably right——but the way it was portrayed made it possible they might take it back in the next episode. I was going to ask—-did they kill Nick...or not.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
I guess The Walking Dead show runner is now regretting the decision to kill off Carl. Major cast changes coming at decision of cast.
1) Andrew Lincoln aka Rick Grimes will have limited appearances in season 9 before leaving the show at season's end. No word on Rick Grimes fate for season 9.
2) Lauren Cohen aka Maggie Rhee will only appear in six episodes before leaving by season's end. Again no word on the fate of Maggie Rhee by season end.
3) Norman Reedus aka Daryl Dixon signed a $20million contract so a character not even in the comic will play an even bigger role in the t.v. series.
Andrew Lincoln leaving The Walking Dead

Just not a fan of them hyping up Rick's last episodes like this. I mean yea everyone knows that he is leaving the show but it is not like they needed the viewers to come back.

Show is about to get so far away from the comic it's going to be hard to follow. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

They're out of ideas.
Low budget soap opera hiding behind a big budget and long ago lost any entertainment value.

Seems like most of the posters these days are here to complain about the show. So, Arty, did you watch? If so, why? If not, why are you here?
Yeah I’ll never understand this mindset. It’s clear what this thread is about and people do still enjoy the show, despite what this guy says.

Works for me - I've never read the comic.
It's not even so much the departure form the comic, it's the elimination of most of the main/favorite characters. Glenn and Abraham killed off to stay true to comic, Carl killed off for??? Now Rick and Maggie leaving the show. So who's going to lead all of this when they're gone, Jesus, Ezekiel, Daryl? Maybe a reformed Negan? If they stay close to the comic, they're about to face the biggest enemy, The Whispers. Rick, Carl and Negan teamed up to beat them now 2 of 3 will be gone.

The whisperers were 1 of my favorite comic arcs and they just can't do it justice without Carl. I still watch the show but a day or 2 later not the same night during the live broadcast. Didn't even know it started back until I saw this thread bumped.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
The ratings are in and it isn't good. No shock here.
https://ew.com/tv/2018/10/09/walking-dea...e-ratings/
Quote:The Walking Dead returned for its ninth season on Sunday, but many of its former fans have apparently checked out.
The premiere episode was seen by 6.1 million viewers — down 47 percent from last fall’s season 8 return, which was seen by more than 11 million people. Among adults 18-49, the show was down 51 percent.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
Seems like they’ve gone back to making it a show about zombies, instead of the continual soap opera. I was pleasantly surprised with this season’s premiere.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead [Warning: Spoilers]
Very few shows last 9 or 10 years. I have enjoyed it, but anything they do is getting old. As for replacing old characters, they simply get too expensive to keep.
