Would you want to go into a large stash of weapons with someone you just met in that situation?
Had he been alive and ignored on the way back I might feel differently about that particular situation.
That's how I looked at it. They had a goal and were on a mission to find weapons. On the way back armed to the teeth, sure you can sit next to us with a gun pointed at you until we feel you out.
The crazy rick def ruined it for that other group but hoping they end up figuring things out.
Hopefully once the Governor situation is resolved and they can start building trust in humans again. Otherwise what's the point?

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
The reason human civilization evolved and has been successful is because of communication and alliances. What's a guy in a desperate situation like that going to do to the people that saved him, shoot them in the back of the head just so he can keep 20 guns himself? I doubt it because ultimately he'd still be as screwed without alliances. He posed little threat to 3 armed people anyway, certainly not enough to not talk with him if nothing else to feel him out or get some info. You got to pretty much trust some other people for survival or you are about as good as dead, pretty much how it was back before civilization as well. Rick's missing opportunities to make his group stronger and their chances better, and also making more enemies in the process. Why wouldn't Tyree's group want to help the new people that took them in sneak back into the prison if they would let them in their group for doing that?

I somehow doubt that's the last we saw of Morgan. I think this past episode is all about Rick snapping back to reality or "Clearing" his mind of the recent personal tradgedy.

I'm with you. But I can also imagine I'd be pretty scorned if on multiple occasions someone I've attempted to trust has tried to kill me or my family. That's bound to leave a pretty big hole of distrust to get out of.

Hell, people don't trust to leave their food in the fridge at work without writing their name on it.

I look at it like this. He's been away from human contact for a while now. He clearly has some sort of trust for Rick and even had some encouraging words for Carl at the end of the episode. Rick definately mentioned the prison to Morgan.
I'm most interested to see what happens to Tyrese & Co. I believe Tyrese was Rick's right hand man in the comic, admittedly I don't read the comic though.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
I was talking about Rick and them not picking up the hitch hiker. Morgan I think trusts Rick but he's still detached from reality on his own personal "Clearing" mission to rid the world of the undead, or whatever it is he's set himself in motion to do. I think he'll ultimately end up making his way to the prison after some self convincing he can be of help to them.
I haven't read the comics yet either and had good feelings about at least Tyrese and the woman. Wondering how/if they get more involved.

I enjoyed the episode too. I think Rick has pulled himself back together. Tonight, Michonne had a classic Line of I see people too, when she mentioned her old boy friend. Also, Michonne officially became a member of Ric's group tonight. Michnonne has developed a friendship with Carl that solidifies her standing in the group. Rick is starting to look more like Shane after the heartless treatment of the hitch hiker.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
Last night's episode was excellent; we were able to see "future Rick" in the form of Morgan; his state of mind woke Rick up and now that Michonne has gotten on Carl's and Rick's good side, we'll get to "hear" more from her.
I'm still really interested to find out what happens to Merle; does Glenn or Michonne off him once the Governor is dispatched? Furthermore, will the Gov be dispatched this season or next?
The show ain't done with Morgan. He might wind up being the one who saves the day for all I know.

I really liked the episode.
I thought the last shot (going back and picking up the backpack) was a great bit of visual storytelling to show what their world has become. No words. Just the visual.

The guy is pretty boss though. Get's stabed with a Rambo knife 2 inches from the chest. Blows it off like it was a scratch.

I guess you could call it heartless but I think it was more of "I'm on a mission and I don't have time to risk on a stranger."

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
Truthfully, not stopping for the backpacker was the only logical thing to do; think about it:
who would guard him once they stopped in town? One person guarding another is the loss of a person in the field and in this world, that means death.
What would I have done? I would like to think that I would have spoke with the guy and asked for him to hold his horses until I drove back through. Once that occurred I would have quizzed the hell out of him (where is he from, does he know the Governor, etc), apprised him of the situation with "others" and then stripped him of his gear and drove him back to the prison.
Let's not forget how tired these people are...
Maybe we'll find out that he was sent by the Governor as an assassin or something.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
So I'm on a zombie comparing kick and I watched Dawn of the Dead (2004) tonight for the first time since it came out and I didn't realize how much more scary their zombies were. Those zombie mofo's could sprint full speed and climb stuff, work together to try to turn cars over etc. Kind Walking Dead would have incorporated that in the story more. They just seemed much more dangerous.

For some reason I just can't enjoy fast zombies. IMO, zombies are better served being either slow or human walking speed. They're a lot more scary when you think of them as that slow, but steady moving dark cloud that brings a storm. It's pretty Lovecraftian that way.

RE: OT: The Walking Dead
I could walk backwards or on crutches I think and get away from the Walking Dead zombies. The only time they are much of a threat now is when they are in a herd, which is ultimately fine because I like the storylines, and they are just kind of foder in it at this point, but the dawn of the dead zombies would kill your ass quick.

Yea, I struggled with that scene.
If you get a 4 inch blade in your chest or shoulder you don't just dab it off, stuff a sock in it, and carry on like it was a mosquito bite.
I wondered if that will cause him issues in the episode but he looked pretty pissed and healthy in the previews.
I think this was the best episode of the season by far.
Hopefully Morgan gets more involved with them and the show.

The zombies have evolved in this series to become the slow-type zombies. In the first season, one zombie was much more dangerous, particularly when Rick, Glenn, Andrea, T-Dog, Jackie, the Mexican guy, and Merle were stuck in the store. When it pans to the glass doors, one zombie is actually using a brick-like object to try to break the glass. Later, when Glenn and Rick are running from the zombies after the entrails wash off from the rain, they hop a fence to try to reach the truck. One zombie hops the fence behind them, and Glenn, expecting it, shoots him and keeps running.

I noticed that as well. I think that they put a lot of thought into the "Walkers" and that they actually plan on having them "devolve" as they rot... hopefully that makes sense. LOL
