Jerry Bynum - Walk On RB
Nice! Is he a preferred walk-on?

Doesn't seem to have breakaway speed, but def the powerful type of RB. More like the I-break-your-tackle-and-your-face-simultaneously-and-with-ease type of guy. I like it.

TexasFootball.com lists him as having 4.4 speed, but it doesn't look like it in the highlight video.
He does look pretty fast here (although not good at clearing hurdles) - 110m Hurdles and here District Track Meet

Looks to be a good pickup. Want to see what the other freshmen have to offer also.

When does fall camp start so we can see all the new guys and get an idea of what the team will look like?

Looks like his downfield moves are good. I agree with some of the other comments...he doesn't seem to have a lot of breakaway speed.
He could be somebody with good growth potential.

RE: Jerry Bynum - Walk On RB
He is the 96th ranked running back in the nation on Scout (link). Backs ranked lower than him committed to Syracuse, Colorado, Mississippi State, West Virginia, Arizona State, and Tennessee. This is odd. How is this guy a walk-on here?

RE: Jerry Bynum - Walk On RB
His highlight video doesn't seem to show a 4.4 speed. I'm either very bad at judging speed or every defensive player he faced in the video ran a 4.4 at least. I love his footwork, and he seems to have a thing for finding open spots.
If he is a walk-on then he prob had academic issues or off-field issues. Either way, he deserves a shot and we are in no position to turn him down, especially at the RB spot. If it's off the field issues, then Coker will know how to handle it, as proven by a couple others that got kicked out.
