....looking forward to competing with the ACC teams in all sports.
Just pay off Bobby's five charges to Miss Priss' Cat Emporium!

Grew up in ACC territory in my younger years. Used to have many arguments over the years with my buds related to the ACC. It was a conference I loved to hate. Was around for the Ralph Sampson and Othell Wilson days at UVA including going to see them play many times. Of course that UVA team included some Kentucky boys (Lamp, Raker, Jones) so couldn't hate them too much.
Watched the 1983 NCState Championship with my ACC buds, too. Greatest game I ever saw (not including UL championships or bowl wins) although the Georgetown Nova game was incredible.
So sorry about the demise of the Big East. It really was the first national type of TV conference for me anyway. For UL to be playing in MSG against the likes of UConn, SYR, St Johns, etc...it was incredible especially given the history (the Pearl, Louie, Rollie, Mullin, Owens, Coleman, Berry, Ewing, wow)
Quite frankly I can't believe UL is in the ACC. It was just something I could never imagine happening. Now I have so many emotional conflicts right now. Don't worry about me...I'll get over it.
Was in Greensboro this weekend, I should have left a thank you note with Swofford at ACC Blvd at the Grandover.
I used to post on these boards under a different name (I explained who I was to the mods when re-applying for board membership), and I probably won't post much now, but I'm a big UofL fan and hugely pleased with our upcoming membership in the ACC (which I hope now will come sooner than originally expected, with the immanent demise of our old conference).
I live in San Diego, and though I was looking forward to my alma mater playing my local team regularly, I'll gladly give up that opportunity for the good of the Cards' future. The ACC is where we ought to be now, and I think we'll fit in much better here than we ever would have in the Big 12. And because our conference identity is not bound up in a single institution that dominates the entire league, I believe we're inherently more stable than they are.

Best wishes to all on this board.
I hope you change your mind - I've enjoyed your posts so far. Surely you can take a break from hang-gliding off the cliffs at Torrey Pines occasionally? Or are you one of those folks who likes to sun bathe on the beach below...?
