RE: Gr8 Post on FSU Board about WVU Trolls
Louisville was added to keep the football first schools from abandoning ship. Louisville was the best addition we have made since VT, but essentially UL and WVU would have been interchangeable. I know talking with my well connected source WVU was an option the last time, but the basketball interests won out. When the TV contract failed to increase as much as they thought it would, and it became clear by discussions with our TV master that basketball was a fraction of importance the priorities changed. Had the same conditions existed last year that existed this year realignment would have had a much different look.

So whom was the other team discussed with WVU at the time? I always thought WVU and Cuse made the most sense as it would've appeased both sides.

The funny thing about this move, now that I've had a few days to ponder it, is that it was really a basketball move disguised as a football addition -- just enough to appease the southern flank.

Well, we couldn't add anybody but Louisville that would help football because nobody football first would have anything to do with the ACC.

I am just glad that even though we are a "Basketball School" our AD & President really invest in Football.
I expect attendence to even skyrocket even more with the move to the ACC. Look @ it like this, when we was in C-USA we averaged around 35K, moved to the BIG EAST and expanded Papa John's the last 3 years we averaged around 50K. With schools like Clemson, Virginia Tech, Florida State & Miami-(even UNC, that game sold out) we will average close to our capacity and in a couple of years I fully expect another expansion of Papa John's.

I fully expect that too. Hopefully y'all will continue to get quality ticket sales to the Sugar bowl and can be counted on as another good travelling fan base.
