Methinks that where Kahlil Lewis' scholly came from. Probably a qualification issue.

I think Story's walking on.

Grayshirt, wouldn't be surprised one bit.

I think Story was linked to that Blueshirt idea.

Walkon your first year. Essentially a try out in hopes of proving enough to earn a scholly the second year. Idea straight from SEC country.

Seems to me like a different spin on a preferred walk-on offer.

RE: Football Class of 2015
Anyone see that Antonio Howard ended up signing with Marshall, pretty big fall from where he was just after decommiting from us back in the summer.

Also, our other DB decommit, Josh Norwood, ended up as the #204 player per 24/7 in the country, and jumped from a composite #1682 player in the country to #498 within a month of his commitment to OSU. Got to love that unbiased rating system. Really wish we still had him, he's going to be an absolute stud.

At one time I would have agreed with you whole heartedly on this point. A few years ago we were in early on five star Doran Grant from OSU, and I thought that he was going to be the greatest thing as a defensive back coming out of Ohio. After watching Kiel and company shred their secondary, I am not so sure that Grant was much better than our juco and two star players. I think the stars matter most on the defensive line and lb. I think that you can get away with 3 star talent in the secondary.

Watch the tape. I was more unhappy losing Norwood than I have been with any other decommitment in the last decade or so. He is a VERY good player, stars or not. Marcus and I were saying that back before he even got rated. I do agree though, normally DB's are the hardest players to project due to the fact that so many of them rely on their domination through physicality in high school and they tend to just rely in that in college (For an Grant was a surefire case of this), whereas, some of the best corners in college and the pros are not the most physically gifted ones, they're the ones who are technically sound and much less "flashy" to recruiting services who look at numbers more than tape nowadays.

It will be fun to watch to see how Norwood turns out. I like to keep tabs on players who had verbaled and commit elsewhere.

Same here. So far the only ones who have really burned us to my knowledge have been Tre Boston and Patrick Omameh.

This is a huge get. He will sit out this season but will be ready the following year when we lose 7 guys to graduation.

He has 3 years of eligibility left.

Sounds like a solid pickup. Can't blame anyone for getting out of that mess at Vandy.

Beats me, but I'd assume he'd be an upgrade even if he hasn't been the same since he tore up his knee.

Edit: Read that Oklahoma State is a possibility.

...at a school not named UC possiby. Back to the drawing board. Interweb scuttlebutt and folks on 247 saying he changed his mind for some reason. Dunno.
