A great day! Welcome, LA Tech, North Texas, FIU, FAU, UTSA, and Charlotte and ODU for all sports, ex. football. It's going to be great having all of you as conference mates
WKU, we're waiting on you guys! Knock 'em dead in the SBC, this year!
I can't blame any of the schools/fans that are remaining from CUSA 2.0 for not being excited or upset abound being stuck with the newcomers. I know Runner Nation is proud to be a part of CUSA and is looking forward to the future. Hopefully over the next 5-10 yrs we can solidify ourselves as the top Go5 conference.
I'll speak for all the students at Florida Atlantic when I say.. WE'RE PUMPED TO BE IN CUSA!!!
I can't make any promises for the fair weather fans, but us students won't disappoint y'all!
Real question, Why is MTSU putting the full pr machine to work today? Except for USM, I really do not see where your program has upgraded. I mean this as no disrespect, but I just don't understand all of the excitement. Conf USA is still irrelevant on the national scene, I say this even with ECU still in the league. As an ECU fan, the league never really did anything for us, so I don't understand what MTSU thinks they are getting today?

Typical.
Yet you're so excited to join the exact same thing that will bring you the exact same rewards in football and hoops if you can even get past Memphis, UCONN, and Cincinatti on an annual basis.

Typical, in that you are wrong once again. I have no excitement about joining the AAC. All of the leftovers are in trouble. Some more than others, but all are looked down upon.

Real question, why does that matter to you?
It's a real question. If it comes across negatively, it was not meant to be at all. I suppose I am looking for any bright spots in this whole conf rel mess, and am wondering what I am missing. It looks like MTSU has found some things to celebrate and I am curious as to how their fans view Conf USA.

One big reason..... MT gets as much in TV payout now than the entire combined Sun Belt got last year.
Better schedule.
More recognizable programs.
More bowls. We were left at home at 8-4 last year. We were also left at home at 8-3 in the Belt.
Go 19-1 in C-USA men's hoops and there won't be any talk of whether MT should be in the Dance or not-- highest RPI team other than us was FIU at 111.
I cannot think of one negative, other than the Belt may be better in some years in baseball (top to bottom). But we didn't even make our own conference tourney this past year in the Belt, so I think that may be a positive.
Welcome Charlotte, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Old Dominion, & UTSA! Looking forward to the new conference. All of you bring something to this conference both immediately and in the future. C-USA has been good for all institutions that have been members. Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Just like ECWHO come next year. You can dress ECWHO up but they are still just a pile of COW SH*T.

Oh my gawd. Let them have their moment. Anyone moving from sunbelt to cusa should be partying today. Buzzkill.

After Lville is gone, some are asking the same about ECU and the AAC.
Your answer in defense of the AAC, is MT's answer regarding CUSA.

Plus it is an opportunity to do it. It is a big upgrade in $ terms and it is a chance to get the average person in the area to pay attention.
True or not... C-USA holds a higher level of recognition to a lot of casual observers. They may see the news and take the opportunity to check out the teams.
Good luck to MTSU and all of C-USA in 2013... see you guys next year!
