It should be noted they didn't visit every college in NC... they didn't visit ECU. We have a pretty darn nice stadium.

Aren't there already a couple of threads on this? We should just merge them all.

Personally, I like the Hayes a great deal. My biggest knock is that it could be larger. Great venue for catching some baseball, though.

Both are nice. Side by side comparison.

Stadium Journey doesn't have a consistent way of ranking stadiums...

1. They don't have the same person ranking all the stadiums, so what one person likes about one stadium, a different reviewer could dislike about another. (also some people are just more generous with rankings)

2. For the most part, they base their ranking on just one visit to the stadium. I'm sure every team has one game that if someone were to "rank" the atmosphere, they'd receive a low ranking and vice versa.

The guy ranking our stadium fans says "I have to call out the MTSU fans here. As soon as the Blue Raiders began to fall behind their foe, Floyd Stadium fell silent." I'd say it's understandable for fans to not cheer whenever their teams falls behind by a lot...Ill use our 2011 home game against Ga Tech as an example; even though we had 30,000+ in attendance, our fans never had anything to cheer about because the game got out of hand in the 1st quarter (21-0 in the 1st). That game would've had a really loud and fun atmosphere if it were closer.

Nice looking stadium Pirates.

One problem Charlotte has is a new Triple-A stadium 10 miles away (Charlotte Knights), a Triple-A stadium 20 miles away (Kannapolis Intimidators), and I will not even count the three Single-A stadiums within an hour and 15 minutes of us. We will never be the only baseball game around.

Congrats.....or sorry? I am not sure what you are going for.

Kannapolis is a Low-A affiliate, not AAA. There are only two AAA's in NC, along with Durham Bulls.

I don't really follow baseball, but I do like the new stadium. It might not be as nice as others, but it's 10x better than the old one.

I don't hate stadium journey, it's just a joke. It has different people doing the rankings and yeah, the guy who wrote ours is kind of an idiot...

"When Floyd Stadium was expanded to its current 30,788 seat capacity in 1997, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that MTSU would join the ranks of the ACC or SEC within the decade, but that has not happened."

Plus ranking stadiums based off one game especially at Sun Belt/CUSA/MAC etc is just not practical. The fact of the matter is the gameday experience varies much more at our level.

I was going for nice looking stadium. Really.

I guess my other point is is that we will be challenged to expand another 1000 seats because there are so many other nearby baseball teams. Maybe moving to C-USA will help us.

If we could sell alcohol at the stadium I have a feeling attendance would be way higher. I'd probably go to 10-15 baseball games a year if I could buy beer or bring my own in.
