At least you get FSU this year. Could be worse. We host Duke this year, so it will be 12 years before we get to see any appreciable amount of visiting fans from the Coastal other than GT.

After 2015; GT won't get FSU again in Atlanta till 2029. That's just plain stupid... We're the closest ACC school to them (270 miles) and it would be a sellout at both stadiums.

Geographic realignment needs to happen sooner than later.

SHHHHHH! You as a GT fan are taking away the argument that everybody else on here has that only a few FSU fans want FSU/GT.

We need to move to 9 conference games and get rid of some annual crossover games.
No need for VT and BC or UVA and Louisville to play annually. I want to cycle through the other schools in the Atlantic division faster.

No to 9 conference games. I don't want to give up interesting OOC matchups like Auburn and UGA for Duke or UVA more often.

And no way in hell do I want to give up GT annually for anybody in the Atlantic, including VT.

RE: Future rotating crossover opponents (through 2024)
After the Big Ten decided to go to 14 there were 2 things I considered the highest priority, 1. divisions with no locked crossovers, 2. 9 conference games. We mostly got it, although I feel bad for Indiana/Purdue (whom need a locked crossover to play each other). I still think the conference messed up by not doing inner/outer. It would have been negatively received at the time, but would have been far more balanced geographically, population wise, and name brand wise, and required zero locked crossovers. That said, they mostly met what I was hoping for.

I get the reasons against 9 conference games in the ACC. I also get the difficulty of setting things up to minimize locked crossovers. Eventually though, I bet the conference will decide on one or the other. Either the divisions have to be redone so that a minimum number of crossover are necessary or 9 conference games are adopted. I'd bet on the divisions, although still think it's a ways off.

I've been vouching for geographical realignment since Pitt joined the league.

Amen brother. As a GT fan, I want to play Clemson, FSU, and UNC every year. Everyone else can be rotated. Though I would prefer to see VT and NC St as much as possible.

Yeah I don't like the 9 conference games either. I would like GT to keep rivalries alive with teams like Auburn and Alabama. It's a shame that the upcoming series with Bama has been indefinitely postponed because of the uncertainity of a 9 game conf schedule.

Well UMD=Louisville on the schedule. To keep the home/away working right you play the first year of the next cycle before you play the return of the current cycle.

When I first saw your post, I thought geez you've got to have better division names than that. Then I got it North/South in one and middle in the other.

For the record, I'd be fine with that. All 6 division opponents are an easy drive from Blacksburg and heavier populated Virginia. I'd really miss GT, Miami, Pitt and not playing the former coastal opponents FSU and Clemson. But you have to give up something and having a whole division in easy driving distance is worth that.

Ugh! No thanks! Close - sure - but not very appealing. If closeness is the only factor then let's play Radford and Richmond and VMI... the ONLY way this works, IMO, is pods (even uneven pods > bun & meat)
