Well, not normally, no - but they might appear in a bowl anyway if they get to at least 6-6. If there are bowl spots open after all normally eligible 6-6/6-7 & better teams have been taken, then teams in the second year of transition, like UTSA, can be selected.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%...gency_plan

That's cool. Did not know that. With that being said UTSA is 2-5 right now with games left against UAB, @Tulsa, Tulane, @NT, and LaTech. It's certainly possible for them to get 4 wins in those remaining games but it will be difficult. I could see them beating UAB and LaTech but the other three will be tough. I know they will give a good game to all of those remianing teams though. Would be a huge accomplishment for them to reach a boal.

I don't know how Tulsa's season will go but they certainly did not dismantle UTEP. They won by 2 td's but it was more competitive than that. 430 yards to 388 is only 42 yds difference and the score was 27-20 in the 4th qtr. That is not a dismantling. While UTEP is far from being good, we all admit that, they have been very competitive in 3 of those 5 losses. Just wait until next year. Our guys will be really competitive in all 10 losses! jk cause I do expect UTEP to be a good bit better next year.

Marshall 4-2 (@MTSU, USM, UAB, @Tulsa, @FIU, ECU)
ECU 4-2 (USM, @FIU, Tulsa, UAB, NCST, @Marshall)
Rice 4-2 (@NMST, UTEP, @NT, LaTech, @UAB, Tulane)
Tulane 5-2 (Tulsa, @FAU, @UTSA, UTEP, @Rice)

Reasoning: Unless there is an epic collapse or a catastrophic injury, it is pretty much guranteed these teams are going bowling.

On the bubble (needs 3 more wins)
MTSU 3-4 (Marshall, @UAB, FIU, @USM, UTEP)
North Texas 3-3 (@LaTech, @USM, Rice, UTEP, UTSA, @Tulsa)

Reasoning: MTSU should be ables to win 3 of these games. FIU, USM, and UTEP just are not very good teams this season. North Texas has a little tougher of a road but still has 3 winnable games.

Bubble Bursting (needs 4 more wins)
Tulsa 2-4 (@Tulane, UTSA, @ECU, Marshall, LaTech, NT)
FAU 2-5 (@Auburn, Tulane, @USM, NMST, FIU)

Reasoning: These teams need 4 more wins and have a very slim margin for error. With the way Tulsa has been playing I just can't see 4 wins with their remianing schedule. To be honest with FAU's schedule they most likely have already seen their bubble burst.

Bubble Bursted
UAB 2-4 (@UTSA, MTSU, Marshall, @ECU, Rice, USM)
FIU 1-5 (LaTech, ECU, @MTSU, @UTEP, Marshall, FAU)
USM 0-5 (@ECU, NT, @Marshall, @LaTech, FAU, MTSU, @UAB)
LaTech 1-5 (NT, @FIU, USM, @Rice, Tulsa, @UTSA)
UTEP 1-5 (@Rice, @Texas A&M, @NT, FIU, @Tulane, @MTSU)

Reasoning: These teams are just too far out of it and their remaining schedules are just too tough. I can't see UAB winning 4 games out of their remaining schedule and the other 4 teams listed need an absolute miracle to reach the 6 win total.

*UTSA is not eligible.

LA Tech is 2-4, not 1-5. Not that it matters all that much.

Why does everybody keep putting us down with the wrong record?? We arent great but hell we at least have multiple wins. (2-4) And we are 1-1 in conference with our loss going to a much improved Tulane.

I would say Tech (2-4) should be in the Bubble Bursting category with FAU and Tulsa. If we lose to UNT, then you can say it Bursted. 2-5 will be hard to come back from. I know UNT is favored, so like BleedGreen33 said "it doesnt matter much"

You guys are still going to win at least 8 games.

Take the hawaii bowl. It will be fine. Fun for the kids. Reward for the players. What could go wrong?

I don't think ya'll ever came back from that bowl & us as well to a certain degree. Maybe we should drop that bowl from our lineup

The Hawaii Bowl was good to us. After that bowl, we went on to win Conference USA the next two years.

It was also a part of three consecutive victories against Top 25 teams for us, a first for a Conference USA program. (#23 Boise State, #17 Virginia Tech, #8 West Virginia)

No bowl wins since - something wrong there says the voodoo in me 03-lmfao

USM coach left them on the altar there on his way out, ours should have left but overstayed his welcome & we've not recovered from it
yet...

Tulane won the 2002 Hawai'i Bowl and then embarked on a decade of failure.

I think Tulsa is on the bubble.

I feel like UAB can sneak in if they don't lose more than one ball game left in the regular season. 1 more is all they can afford to lose, anything beyond that will get the door shut in their face. I'm with you on Tulsa, they are "on the bubble. with this young team.
