Last shot for a while? You guys shutting half of your programs for a lack of interest?

Well its not like you would have a prayer against us in MBB

at this point in the season you're probably right.

But beating up on SBC programs doesn't really change who you are as a program. You still play in an empty HS quality gym.

Wouldn't mind playing you guys next year...

It'd likely be a decent RPI me for both our programs. Beats the hell out of playing some of the garbage we normally play OOC.

I think we played the last meeting in Atlanta though, so it is your turn to come to Charlotte. 04-cheers

Well, now that it's settled, someone call the ADs and let them know we've reached an agreement.

I am surprised it did not happen this year as we played 5 CUSA schools. I think it happens soon though due to proximity.

I feel like we are talking to the GSU version of StillJonesing.

The Niners are 27-1 against GSU all time in hoops. I'd love to add to that total.

Interesting that a App State vs UNCC football thread evolved into a UNCC vs Ga State basketball thread..........

However, I gotta pull for our conference mate here. I'm pretty sure Ga State whips UNCC in 2015. UNCC needs to just concentrate on not losing to D2 and 3 opponents for the next couple years to build respectability. A loss to the Div 2 HBCU Johnson C. Smith next year could be devastating for area recruiting.

See you city boys in 2018.

Panama is better and funnier to deal with than SJ. No matter how many games they (GStU football) lose, he seems to gain more and more confidence in his team each offseason. It's pretty remarkable actually.

Well, whenever the heck we play them. If it's not until 2105 then there's a better chance we beat them. Probably a reason Hogan jumped ship.

Hogan had already graduated and was going to ride the pine his Sr year because he is not an FBS LB. He is a good kid and good tackler but lets face it, he is 5' 10"...maybe and 210 lbs and not fast. We signed several 3 star and 2 star FBS LBs in the last 2 classes and he likely wouldnt make the 2 deep. I am sure the decision to be closer to family, Curry being gone and the prospect of special teams duty to end his college career was not appetizing.

Yeah, your career leading tackler probably wouldn't have seen the field on that vaunted Panther squad. 03-lmfao

Ahead of who? Joe Peterson? Kight Dallas? You do get that as a straight to FBS start up the kids in each successive class will be more talented right? So the kids you recruited for year one will not hold a candle to your year 4 and 5 players. This is especially true in cases like ours where we recruited for FCS and then got an invite in year 3 and started recruiting FBS players. So it isnt a stretch to say that a player recruited in 2009 as an FCS linebacker wasnt going to start ahead of the FBS recruited players from 2012 and 2013. Like I said GREAT kid. But a hair too short and a step too slow for FBS. When you play a full CUSA schedule you will see the difference. And he isnt our all time leading tackler.

Golly, no....I didn't know that. Thanks for educatin' me. 01-wingedeagle

Comment just to make a comment? There was a question as to why Hogan was not going to start in 2013. I explained why.

RE: Charlotte and App State to play in 18-19
Before the children took this completely away from its stated purpose - I think its great Charlotte and Appy State are playing.

While it has been a number of years since ASU and Marshall teed it up (2002), and since 1996 since the schools were both in the Southern Conference (1976-96), I would welcome the "Goons from Boone" back on the Herd's schedule.

Lovely town, great in early fall, Daniel Boone Inn (you wouldn't have to ask if you had ever been there), nice drive either on newer four-lane or old route through National Forest - going to Boone was always a nice trip for Herd fans - rowdy crowds at both stadiums, Herd got first SC victory there in 1981 after going 0-26-1 to start SoCon football, Appalachian State upended the Herd at Homecoming in 1992 for first loss at new MU Stadium.

Hope the powers that be get these two former rivals back together, as these Mountaineers are welcome on any Herd schedule.

Charlotte had the same number of FCS wins last season as App did. Maybe you should concentrate on your own problems.

Oh I'm sorry, maybe we should have thrown a few FCS Non-Schollys and a few of those Div 2 and 3 powerhouses on the schedule, you know, to make sure we had more wins than UNCC.
