I'm a newbie to the ACC but Wake Forest seems like the most neutral school/fan base out there. However, their Wake Indy Board is insular and full of weirdos...a really odd sports forum. I find most Wake fans are a tad smug but not too confrontational. Most I've met are decent guys. Just my 2 cents.

I find your argument very compelling and persuasive.

RE: Louisville vote to join the ACC
The selection committee deserves the lambasting they have gotten since sunday. However I do not think it's fair to pile on ron Wellman and I don't understand why ron Wellman is getting any kind of heat inside the gene Snyder freeway. wake forest was against louisville in the acc so to prove how much they hate the cardinals the selection committee, headed by the ad of wake forest, seeds louisville as a 4! and as a result of that snub EVERYONE SINGLE LOUISVILLE TEAM HAS THAT WAKE DATE CIRCLED ON THE CALENDER!!!
two questions:
1. In 2005 whoever was the head of the committee who had louisville as a 4, did Floyd street declare utter annihilation of that ad's school?
2. does anyone else think how utterly ridiculous that sounds on its face?
the 1-68 seed list was screwed up. of the teams on the 3 line, i don't think Creighton or Syracuse should have been higher than louisville. Duke maybe. Iowa State debatable. The committee deserves heat for not seeding the field better. they also deserve heat for sacrificing balance of the brackets for geological locations (that was the excuse they gave last year for putting the overall top seed in louisville in the 2013 bracket of death). But there is no massive conspiracy directed towards the university of louisville basketball team and I really cannot believe otherwise rational people are giving credence to this.

Wilkie,
Either folks don't know or they just aren't talking, but I have not found anybody that really can answer that question.

I wasn't aware that anyone voted against them. I think there were other schools considered, and they had the support of a few member schools. But once it became clear that Louisville was the choice of most, I think they were acceptable to all. I expect at that point somebody probably asked "can we make this unanimous?"

It was Unanimous on the second vote. I for one have no grievance with any ACC school. I didn't care for the seeding but You still have to win to advance. Heck, We've lost the first game before. Not that really sucks.
Hate it more for Steve Masiello to get Your first shot and have to play Your mentor the first game. Bad Joke on the Committee's part.

See this is what everyone is making this into. I don't think anyone has said that Ron Wellman and the committee went out of their way to screw Louisville in particular. At least what I am saying is that the committee did a good job of looking out for their own, but when it came to the Wichita States, Louisvilles, Manhattans, and AAC teams they did not mind that those teams got shafted. Nobody spoke up and said Hey guys this doesn't look right. It is not a conspiracy to do harm that has people upset, it is that they screwed up and did not care to fix it because they just did not care. Wellman was very prepared to explain why NC State got in and why Virginia is a Number 1 seed ( both of which are great with me btw) but he should have also been able to explain why Louisville was a 4 seed and SMU did not make the field or why all the remaining AAC schools are in one region limiting their possible credits.
When you look at the numbers and seeding and the match up placements, many are so bad it looks criminal. It looks like certain conferences that had representation on the committee were taken care of, but no one cared to fix the mistakes of the ones that were not. So many of us feel slighted and the face of the committee is Wellman and he is with Wake ergo the added fire to the beat them on the field. I don't think anyone thinks Wellman or anyone on the committee was actively doing things to cause harm, I just feel they were not trying to do right by everyone and were filled with self interest.
I am just saying they did a bad job and did not fix it that is enough to piss many fans off.

Nope. But good luck on your coaching search I am sure Wellman will do a great job on that!

This whole thread is idiotic and juvenile. Every year someone complains about their seeding. Who cares. Let's just play ball...

I am not saying there was wrong doing I am saying that it is so jacked up that pundits across the nation and locally people think that it must have been on purpose. I am providing links to these articles. They actually do exist. I am not worried or upset I am reporting what is out there and that the numbers are so jacked up it looks bad. That is all. People are accusing me of being drunk, a rube, a conspiracy freak or whatever need to read the links and see Andy Katz, Seth Davis, Dick Vitale, Jay Bilas, and other s are all saying that they and others think the committee screwed up and that Wellman could not adequately explain the reasons. And a lack of openness in the process leaves the door open for people to feel cheated. I do not really care I expect my team to win either way.
Maize and other Cards fans if you think that no one is talking about this or upset then you are free to say so but please do not tell me I can not post to explain myself when I have been misrepresented. You do not have to agree with me or lend support to me but you should at least allow me to have a say as long as I am following board rules.
I actually have your team in the final game, but I picked Michigan State to win it all. Sorry!
You spelled "Syracuse" wrong.
I wish I could spell Spartans with an "ORA" and a "NGE". I just hope we do well. Go Orange!!

I guess Louisville fans will now be willing to concede that Ron Wellman did them a favor by seeding them 4th instead of 1st. Thanks to him, the Cards stayed alive for an extra week in the tourney!
