I hope that our teams will have better motivations for winning conference games than who headed up an NCAA selection committee.

I am not drunk nor crying. I am fine we beat all these teams last year but all pundunts agree this is the hardest bracket. Again it is going to be fun. Not saying that we are going to win but it is fun. What I am saying is that the Wake Forest AD messed up and is trying to defend an obvious setup job. 3 teams from last years final four are in this bracket along with Duke and preseason number 1 UK all just to limit those teams access. They did it on purpose. I am just telling you how it is. Louisville is fine and will have a good tourny but we know what happened and will take note for future meetings. I am not worried I am telling you they tried to screw us and TJ will remember who tried to screw us. We are not the one that should worry.

I'm trying to picture this. I really am. I see a group of ten men sitting around a table saying to each other: "We know that Louisville is a great team, but we really want to screw them over. Let's make it as hard for them to win as we can get away with."

Even if I could actually imagine a scenario like this happening, for the life of me, I can't figure out why. How does this benefit any of these ten guys? How does it benefit Wellman?

Kentucky is not that good this year or have you not seen their record? The Shockers are the weakest and least tested number 1. When did Duke get so great? They were beaten twice by UVa, and had we not been playing our third game in three days we might have beaten them Saturday. Duke's a good team, but not a great Duke team. Michigan is not a "great" team either.

You didn't play in the Big East or the ACC this year, but you are acting like you did. I guess you would rather have been been seeded third and face Michigan then face the winner of WSU and Duke. Or second and still face Michigan then Duke.

I don't think UofL was under-seeded to put them in a "bracket of death". I do think that the Midwest was constructed with two things in mind.

#1. It is a made for television spectacle. Louisville vs Manhattan in the first round is the pupil vs. teacher storyline and feature two teams with very similar styles of play. Then look at the potential match-ups for later rounds. Louisville could play Wichita State (rematch from the Final Four last year) or UK (big time rivalry game). If Michigan or Duke some out of the other side of the bracket, you have two more potential rematches (title game and elite eight last year).

#2. The Indy region is the only regional being played in a dome. Domes are the hardest arenas to sell tickets for so it isn't surprising to me to see four programs that should sell well (Duke, UofL, UK, and Michigan).

To be clear, I don't have problem with the NCAA doing either of the above. They are a business (whether they admit it or not) and I expect them to try to maximize interest with matchups or guarantee sell-outs. The only issue I take is when the NCAA tries to tell fans that the brackets are generated at random and that they don't try to generate story lines / ratings with matchups.

RE: Louisville vote to join the ACC
First of all if you do not think Kentucky is not good then you must not have seen the Florida game. They are not consistant but they are a very good team when they are. Also I am sorry if you are taking this personal. It is not personal. If you disagree with me on the perception That this bracket was loaded up on purpose than we can differ on those points. But I am not saying that it was engineered to screw Louisville alone I am saying that it was a bad job of seeding that did screw all the high seeds in this bracket, Wichita first then Louisville, Duke and Michigan, but most of all Kentucky.
I am not angry with any fans of any school or even the draw. I am not angry. I am just saying that it was a screw job and folks around here will want payback and the face of the Committee is Wellman. That is all. Basically it is a Pulp Fiction situation where Wellman is Zed.

Would you prefer the WWE make an announcement before each match that what they're going to watch is fake?

So the committee manufactures storylines, who cares?

You should really just stop with this imaginary internet revenge thing. It makes you sound like a rube.

Again name calling is not needed. If it makes you feel better go for it. I am giving you the way many around here are feeling about it. I do not care. I plan on cheering for my Cards I have felt all season that this is a sweet 16 or better team and I still feel that way. I am not directing any anger toward you personally or your coaches or team. But I am telling you there is bad blood between Wake and Louisville Athletics depts right now because of this, so do not be surprised to see lopsided scores when they meet. But I have nothing against you or your fans period. Sorry if you take it that way.

For somebody who keeps saying this is nothing personal or petty, you sure do come across as personal and petty. Your statement that "folks around here will want payback and the face of the Committee is Wellman" doesn't sound very objective or high-minded to me.

If it makes you feel better to imagine that there is now some sort of blood feud between Wake and Louisville's athletic departments that will result in unsportsmanlike running up the score type results then feel free to take comfort in that.

RE: Louisville vote to join the ACC
Look it is not me that should be upsetting you. I am just letting you know that the opinion is that Wellmans committee was either setting this up on purpose or was so completely clueless about college sports that they wrecked this draw so horribly that people are taking offense. It is only a reflection on what a horrible job Wellmans leadership caused in this case. And that may or may not comeback to hurt your schools program. If you should be up set with anyone it is him for screwing this up so bad. Lets be honest it is not the first bad job he has done. I mean come on surely you must question some of the decisions of your Athletics dept. Or are you pleased with the current state?
It is not like this is an off the wall idea. Jay Bilas, Doug Gottlieb, Dino G, Dukkie V. and a host of others point out that only twice in history has a team been in the consensus top 10 and been given a 4 seed. Both times it was Louisville. Most people in the media agree we should have been a 2 or 3 seed and most believe UK should have been a 6 or 7. SMU was left out and all the AAC teams got lower seeds than they were expected to get and three of 4 are in the same bracket. Guess which conference did not have a member on Wellmans committee.. AAC got shafted. It was not just Louisville this committee screwed the whole conference and if they can do it to the AAC today they can do it to the ACC in football or baseball or basketball in the future. This was unsportsmanlike to do what they did to the AAC teams that did not have a voice.

I saw an interesting read in USA Today in which they listed 10 things the selection committee got wrong. Louisville's seeding did not make the list. Gasp! That must mean they (USA Today) were in on the conspiracy! I wonder how they made it past the guards and into the sequestered conference room where the committee was plotting against Louisville.

Inquiring minds want to know.

I don't think asking for honesty or openness about the process are bad things. Like I said, I don't really care that the NCAA does it, just be honest about it if someone asks.

No it means one writer or editor agreed with the seeding. But almost every pundit on the tv and Radio agrees the AAC teams and all the teams in the Midwest got the shaft in seeding. You do not have to agree and not all experts agree with my opinion but so far the majority of basketball minds I heard last night and on the radio today think they screwed up.
