If by "examining the reasons" you mean you spouting your xenophobic opinion and others mocking you, then yes. Let's do.

The World Cup is great because, like the election and reelection of Barack Obama, it gives American hipsters a chance to partake in unironic expressions of patriotism. It also provides a convenient segue to telling your friends about the “football” “club” you grew to love during the 5 ½ weeks you “lived” in Spain that summer after your junior year at Oberlin. (And check out this cool scarf I got!)

We all know that soccer is a socialist sport. That’s simply beyond dispute at this point. The “USA” team’s recently unveiled World Cup uniforms are proof enough. In fact, they appear to be modeled after the flag of theSocialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

I liked soccer before I'd ever heard of Barack Obama, and why did you put USA in quotations? Are you suggesting that, because they're playing soccer they're not representing this great nation?

Great, but that doesn't negate anything I have typed.

Did it ever occur to you that the only people defending this stupid game are people who lean left, and the people who find it repugnant lean right?

Actually, I've seen just about everybody here express either a like for it or at worst, indifference.

Including some of the most conservative posters here.

You're the one with your knickers in a twist, America hater.

Nope. Other posters have mentioned that very thing. The majority of those on here who champion the socialist's sport are on the left.

Sounds like a complete waste of money.
You are right. Charlotte is a long way from Oklahoma City. You should probably go to the one in Dallas instead.
another complete waste of money. Make sure to take your Spanish to English dictionary so you can communicate with other people at the game.

But I already know English. Wouldn't I need an English to Spanish dictionary?

Virtually everything you type negates itself. It's all part of your particular genius.
Now get back to discussing the socialist implications of the USMNT jerseys.
That fell short of making sense.

It's not my fault if you aren't tall enough to participate in this conversation.

Soccer blows.
Such wit. Such eloquence. How can any hope to withstand the might of your rhetoric?
What is orange is the new black?

I'll tell you if you tell me your views on segregation.

I think that making blacks equal to whites is how progression is defined. This, of course, includes voting, etc. Affirmative Action did as it was supposed to as well, but that has run its course. When we got to the point of suing for not hiring an unqualified black over a qualified white, we began to regress. Seminars such as white guilt are signs of regression, militant extremist groups like NBPP, NAACP, and KKK are all signs of regression. When the NAACP was founded, it had a purpose, but that purpose served well and is no longer needed.

If we're striving for a true equality among races, we've surpassed it and are now going full speed in reverse. Disagreeing with a black man doesn't mean you're racist. I hold both races responsible.

But this thread is about some gay ass soccer, not the succession of Civil Rights. And thanks to Ever, I know what orange is the new black is now so you don't have to explain.

snark isn't going to save you. You cannot convince a large enough audience that soccer is worth watching to make it a relevant sport in America.

Some things just have to sell themselves. Soccer just doesn't have it.

Oh but it is.

What would it be connected to?

Soccer fans in the USA come from all walks of life. It's not a sport that favors one ideology over another.

The #3 or #4 sport in the USA is just simply that as of right now. A mid-level interest sport.

Just because an idiotic liberal parades around the sport as some way of attacking American culture (and I hate stupid people like them) does NOT make it a liberal sport.

I love soccer - and on the navy blue (liberal) to fiery red (conservative) political scale, I'm probably a carnation pink.

Some soccer fans are Conservatives, but that doesn't mean the premise of soccer isn't liberal. Same as the NFL.

Again with just a devastating retort. It's like watching Ali box or Peyton Manning carve up a defense (except in the Super Bowl, of course).
