Mid Season Predictions?
Who will be in the Big Ten Championship game and who do you pick to win the game?
I'm gonna guess Minnesota vs Ohio State with Ohio State winning big. Thoughts?

RE: Mid Season Predictions?
Nebraska over Michigan State. That's a big gamble, and I'm hoping the Sparty contains tOSU just like VT did.
I want to think that Wisconsin gets red hot and makes it at 9-3, but I don't trust that offense and I'm starting to think that they're still a year away.
I think Michigan can ruin Ohio State on the final week of the season. Remember how a bad Michigan team hung in tough last year?

RE: Mid Season Predictions?
I can't predict against my Buckeyes in a close game, so I'll say Ohio State takes the east. The west is much more wide open, but I think Nebraska is the best of the bunch. If either win out, I think is likely (but not certain), that the winner plays in the Rose Bowl or the Sugar Bowl.
Bowl Bound: Ohio State, Michigan State, Nebraska, Maryland, Minnesota, Iowa, Rutgers, Penn State, Northwestern, Wisconsin,
Guesses: The above is guessing that Rutgers beats Indiana, Penn State beats Illinois and Temple, and Northwestern beats Michigan, Illinois, and Purdue. Probably a pretty good chance one of them doesn't make it.

RE: Mid Season Predictions?
I think it will be Ohio State against somebody. At this point, it really is just guessing. Minnesota is in the running and I don't have a clue what they actually have. I havnt seen a single game of theirs.
I would still lean towards Wisconsin if I had to. We have seen before where they had QB issues during the season but figured it out late to win the West.

Idk. Some random team. I did not actually go through it game by game. I just give every good team 1 upset loss and every bad team 1 upset win. That helps avoid those predictions that dont work because team a plays team b and one of them needs to win and 1 needs to lose.
but MSU will lose probably to either MD or PSU. MSU has had too many problems in 4Q to finish 7-1.

I agree that Sparty has been kinda sketchy in the 4th quarter as of late. I'm hoping that MD has that fixed for the Michigan game and beyond.

My question would be more like, who do you have beating Ohio State if you don't think MSU can even beat both Maryland and Penn State?

Idk. Probably @Minn the week after OSU plays @ MSU.
Ok then the question is who does Minnesota lose to. Probably Wisc and Neb.
Neb loses to MSU, Pur, and OSU
Wisc loses to NW and Neb.
Iowa loses to MD, Minn, Wisc, and Neb
NW loses to Minn, Neb, Iowa, and ILL
pur beats ILL and Neb
ILL beats NW
MSU loses to OSU and PSU
MD loses to OSU, MSU, and Rut
Etc, etc.

RE: Mid Season Predictions?
Here is my current guess:
East
MSU 9-0 12-1
OSU 7-1 10-2
UMd 5-3 8-4
PSU 3-5 7-5
RU 2-6 6-6
Michigan 2-6 4-8
Indiana 1-7 4-8
West
Nebraska 7-2 11-2
Wisconsin 6-2 9-3
Minnesota 5-3 8-4
NW 5-3 6-6
Iowa 4-4 7-5
Purdue 1-7 3-9
Illinois 0-8 3-9
I think the top of the east and west are very close. MSU beats Nebraska and makes the playoffs, but does not make the championship.

RE: Mid Season Predictions?
I think Wisconsin isn't going to rally like they usually do. What they don't have this year is a consistent #3 option in the receiving game. Defenses can just key in on Erikson and Arneson - and that means that there's an additional guy that can be played into the box to slow down Melvin Gordon.
If Wisconsin wins the division, it will be because Gordon runs for 1900+ yards and basically carries that offense against Nebraska AND Minnesota. That's a big gamble in my opinion.

In a fit of four decades delayed teen rebellion, Buckeyes over the Huskers ... my team over what was my Dad's team.
I am not predicting OSU over MSU so much as cheering for them to win what on paper ought to be a reasonably close game. But OSU is still placing a lot on the shoulders of a young quarterback, and it only takes one down half to let a game slip away that you ought to win. And MSU does seem like they need to win the game in the first three quarters, with the engine sometimes sputtering in the fourth. So clearly possible for either to slip up, either in another game they need to win, or in their big match up.

MSU over Wisco
We win out imo. @Iowa a little tougher than I originally thought but should be a W. Having Nebraska at home = Win. And the Goofs are the Goofs, no way they beat us. IMO they lose their last four games.
