Our university hasn't crapped on our efforts to get football back since yesterday. Sure, it's a sensitive subject to us. I'm sure we could come up with stuff you wouldn't like to make a cheer out of too.

That said, I expect our band and student section to be very hardcore and partisan, and to make me laugh sometimes with what they say and their antics. I expect them to get into the other team's head a bit if they can.

We heard that and my wife is like "Aw, man, that's just awful!", but I couldn't help but laugh. They were doing their bit to help their team. It's not like they started racist chants or something, it was just low and classless, and I have a low sense of humor.

Yes, very much so. The women's players have been at the forefront of protests. Haase has kept his players away to avoid retaliation by the administration, which is angrily lashing out at perceived resistance (esp. faculty senators). Haase is under contractual obligation not to criticize the administration, but has worn black during protest days and his team wears the "Birmingham" jerseys that are forbidden by the Trustees.

I am well aware that the conference tournament has always been hosted by member schools, but I don't like it. I believe it should be at a neutral site that is fairly central within the conference. That isn't dumb. That is an opinion based on watching the tournament games. Congratulations on your victory.

Our fans travel horribly. No one will bid to host a tournament for the 1500 or so total fans that would come with no host team. We'd have to pay for the venue and lose money on it.

Wow. A little over the top there. I know UAB fans care. It has me pissed off too, since UAB is a longtime rival. I'm not sold that your basketball players grew up UAB fans though and that they would miss a free throw over the football team mess.

I thought 58-56's answer was a better proof of athletic-wide support for the football team.

Everything should be done to give any conferences regular season champion an advantage. Or just simply send the regular season champion. It looks terrible when One bid leagues are sending teams with bad records based on a tourney run played at someone's home court no less. I would want Tech to only host if they won the regular season.

By the way ULL is getting totally humiliated in thier conference tournament.

Good job Hoop Troop keep the tradition going! Take no hostages, while I was in we made a few star players on an opponents teams get so out of their game they got benched, made one cry, had a coach ejected. All with no cussing, pg-13 cheers/chants.

It will never be this way. Besides the three teams seeded above UAB were not better than UAB. We lost four games at the end of the season that we shouldn't and we were missing a key player for all of them. Had we won those four games then we would have won the conf championship so your arguments would be mute. UAB was on your end many times in the past so I understand. I honestly think La Tech deserves a bid. In fortunately an 8-8 team from a power five conference will get that bid and lose first round.

No I don't think Tech was better than them just saying there should be a built in advantage for the regular season champ. Why is UAB bieng gifted for a fourth place finish?
