Doing it like that would cost Texas $20 million plus per year because hen there is no national TV contract. Assuming as an Indy they sign a standard TV contract (like ND), they still need at least six home games to sell to whichever network (ESPN has first dibs) buys them to get the $20 million tier 1 Contract to make up for the lack of conference TV money.

In my "Kansas and Oklahoma to the Big Ten while Texas goes independent" scenario, I thought of a different twist. Texas sends its Olympic sports to the ACC, just like ND. It's a lame amount of travel, but it's only an hour difference in time zones, and it gets Texas more established as an East Coast entity (like Dallas in the NFC East for the NFL). They can set up a 4-games per year contract for football with the ACC schools to massage the arrangement (and help them fill their schedule).
The ACC can keep an 8-game schedule in conference even MORE easily than they currently are doing (with the extra ND and Texas games built in). For basketball, they'll have 16 teams. For football, they'll have 14 teams. Seems pretty symmetrical to me.
Not sure where the LHN fits in, but ND already has arrangements made to keep its football TV money.
And now everyone else comes up with their own version of what I have been saying for months now, hell...years.

funny....utah tries to pretend that since their in Salt Lake City their "different" than the other folks in their state. Only about half the SLC population is LDS, and even more shocking....they elected a Democratic mayor!

I would just point out that "not wanting any part of the SEC culture" when at the time they were in a secure conference, might be far different than the current state, a conference that now has two former conferences mates as part of it, and a completely different landscape. I think if they received assurances of an SEC invite (and it didn't harm OSU), they may have a different opinion on it now.
Actually it was at a time when the Conference was very insecure. I doubt the powers that be opinions of the SEC have changed any.

If Anyone here was of the mindset that it was a done deal that Harbaugh was going to Michigan than they were too afraid to say it. Even Michigan guys here were only willing to say they were wishing for all they were worth that it would come true but that the idea of actually landing Harbaugh was too much to count on.
Most of you, probably including you as well, thought it was impossible for such a successful NFL coach to actually want to go and coach in the college ranks due to all the extra hours of recruiting and what not that go along with the College job.
I on the other hand actually did my research into Harbaugh's past. One picture told me a thousand words.
Guess who that kid in the blue shirt is? Jim Harbaugh bled Maize and Yellow from a very early age.
So you can now try and doubt me on all these things but more often than not I am ahead of most folks when I actually make statements about a situation.
You can keep on trying to cut and paste small parts of my over all scenario in your continued attempts to come at me, but it's the overall picture of mine that no one else has and I have been absolutely rock solid at sticking with this one despite your attempts now to say otherwise.
Yes, some folks are just better at this than everyone else and of course some folks, you in this case, will try to denigrate that instead of congratulate it. So be it, you are a hater.

No Sir. I never think it is impossible for a coach to leave the pros. especially when that coach has been a successful college coach. A big time college job is better than a pro job. Mostly because college job have a lot more security and you don have to deal with player egos.

And in Harbaugh's case, he has an obsessive need for control. You cant have that as an NFL coach. The GM provides you a team for the most part, especially when you and your GM don't get along. In College though you control whom you recruit.

Those articles are just the writer's opinion that the Big12 should expand. Oh Tramel says Castiglione and Stoops wanted Louisville and West Virginia...but that was several years ago they said that. One refers that Snyder would like a playoff game and the same article says Paul Rhodes is against it.
Sorry, but you have not provided any evidence to back up your statement that Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and TCU want to expand.
The only thing remotely is Snyder saying he favored a playoff....but the Big12 is pushing for a playoff with 10 teams so that does not mean he wants expansion. Besides that, the Presidents are the ones that count, not coaches, and you have not shown that the President's of any of those schools favor expansion.
So I am still waiting for evidence that Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and TCU want expansion.

H1 was saying Harbaugh to Michigan long before anyone else here. I spent my time then on the Michigan board and didn't want to jinx it by coming over here and saying something.
First things first, Hoke had to be fired, and H1 thought it would and should happen before anyone else.
And yes, "kooky-madooky" is a little tribute to Colin Cowherd, who was on a crusade to mock all Michigan fans for believing that Harbaugh would land at Michigan.

Is it so hard to believe that the school's most likely to be screwed by the B12 falling apart (ISU/KSU/TCU/BU) would be for ANYTHING (including expansion) that keeps their power conference life raft stable and viable?
