RE: Football Class of 2019
Woods had two costly fumbles that game. One muffed punt inside our 10 that gave Oklahoma an easy score and sealed their win at a time when we had a ton of comeback momentum. Also earlier in the game he was caught from behind on a long breakaway and fumbled inside their 10 costing us a field goal at least. Bearcats could have survived either fumble but not both. Couldn’t even be upset with him because made great plays all game long and single handedly kept us in that game but then single handedly gave it away lol.

Am I misremembering or was that the game he returned a kick to like the 40, ran deliberately to some certain Oklahoma player on Oklahoma's sideline and shoved him or something?

Blue Smith officially announced

https://247sports.com/college/cincinnati...132078854/

This line is very ironic given the current situation with James Hudson and the hypocritcal clusterf*ck of the NCAA -

"If Smith can get eligible immediately (which I am being told from his side of things they are confident) he is a day one competitor for an outside spot and changes the plans for Cincinnati with moving slot receivers to the outside"

Guess that means Jackson is a slot guy for his career now. Solid place to put him.

Tre Tucker just broke the state record in the 200m for Division 2 in the Regional meet. He's a burner.

Didn't see this anywhere so thought I would add it. We just received a late WR addition to 2019 in North Carolina wide receiver Deumbre Ginyard. He was a late academic qualifier.

Ginyard? That name is awfully close to another WR we once had.....

I thought the same thing! If he's HALF as special as Mardy was, we'll be in good shape.

He's an option, but Rivals had the story wrong. He is not a UC commitment. Could happen, but not there yet...

I've seen him listed on a few sites as a verbal. He's hasn't signed, but he has given a verbal ahead of his visit according to the story, but he's also been here before so it's not a new visit.

I would probably trust the person who posted immediately before you who runs the largest pay site for UC sports...

I guess either side could still back out until everything is in writing but it sure sounds like pretty much a done deal per his comments.

I love that we were able to land 3 quality WRs (probably our least proven position) during what's normally the "offseason". Hopefully we can get some production out of one or two of them this year.

It sounds like the bigger issue has been if his grades would be in order which i guess could still pop up wherever he might land. That said, i kind of doubt they would have him back for a second visit unless they thought it was worthwhile. Verbals are verbals, been there done that.

Tre Tucker won the 100m, 200m, and Long Jump state championships yesterday. Kid is a freak athlete...going to love having a guy like him in the slot and returning kicks for the next 4 years.

Yep, i hope he gets here early and gets some reps with the offense. We've got some weapons on the offensive side of the ball, more so than in a long time.

According to 247 transfer portal - these are the guys looking to leave UC or have already left

John Keller - QB (walk on) - gone
Taylor Boose - RB (Sr) (listed on spring roster)
Malick Mbodj - WR (Jr) (listed on spring roster)
Tyrin Summers - WR - gone
Ty Sponseller - LB - already announced transfer to FCS school
Marquis Smith - CB - gone
Christian Angulo - CB - gone

FYI: Tyrin Summers to University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

I guess mostly OT at this point, but I stumbled across an update on Christian Angulo. Turns out he transferred to Hampton where his head coach is iex-UC assistant Bob Prunty. We'll have to see how things end up, but there's talk at least of him being a legit NFL Draft candidate:

Hampton University: Christian Angulo asserting himself among top FCS corners
The Hampton Pirates haven't had a player selected in the NFL Draft since 2011. Cincinnati transfer Christian Angulo looks to break the trend.

FWIW, he does feel that he was treated unfairly at UC but doesn't give any details on why or how.

Didnt see the field for 4 years here then moves to an HBC playing terrible competition and now he's an NFL prospect. This reeks of a pay piece.
