A win over a team from the state of South Carolina, no less. On the road.

And I got ripped on for suggesting Kentucky is a sleeping giant of a football program...

RE: Open Thread - Week 3
We should all be thanking Louisville for "taking one for the team" last night. A Clemson loss would have seriously damaged any CFP hopes the conference has. It's going to be tough enough for the league with the Tigers, Noles, Jackets and Canes all playing each other in a southern round robin this year. Add Tech's OOC schedule with Notre Dame and Georgia (Clemson also plays the Irish) and VT's loss to Ohio State to open the season and you have to wonder if we'll have a one loss champion this year. If not, I think we get left out of the CFP (and IIRC we also don't have our Orange Bowl spot either due to the CFP rotation).

So, thanks, guys. We needed that.

To paraphrase Yoda, beating South Carolina does not make one great!

We won't know if we have 3 High Quality losses or just we suck until a few more games into the season.

Heather Dinich: ESPN heard you say it was impossible to do worse than Pam Ward, and they said "Challenge Accepted."

That tells me GT is going to win big.

BC is a tough team. They will punch you in the mouth and then ask "what are you going to do about it?"

FSU just has too much talent, though.

Scared and conservative? Yes. And that's a problem.

Not really. IMO, when you face a team with great defense and limited offense, conservative is the correct approach. The only realistic way BC could've won last night was on turnovers... conservative FSU didn't have any.

Well, he said the O-line issues are "physical, not mental."

Redshirt freshmen and sophomores are going to need an offseason to bulk up. It'll probably plague them all season.

I thought I went back in time watching Jimbo Fisher get frustrated on the sidelines with Everett Golson.
