Furious at this move. Makes no damn sense.

Absolutely idiotic move in my opinion. Ruffin was a good coach who would have stayed for the rest of his career and you fire him after one bad season? Even if they get Riley, he will leave after two years...

Even though I'm stunned and wondering if this is a good move, I can't help but feel excited. You would hope that we have someone lined up.

I'm not sure he would considering we just blew out a father figure to him after one bad year. I think a lot of it was his fault, but I think he had done enough good things to deserve one more crack at it.

I'm specifically worried about the emotional well being of incoming CB's and LB's after their ex-future-HC got canned.

Ruff was a lot more than just a coach at ECU. He was an alum and inspirational figure. I just don't see the upside in doing this now, when the season clearly had extenuating circumstances surrounding it. Its a very risky move.

I hope this means that Lebo doesn't get a pass either.

but in all seriousness , to fire a coaches that had 10 wins to 2 years ago on his rebuilding year, with his planned starting QB injured preseason is a bit unreal...this should have earliest been a next year thing

1 of these 2 things is the reason why

1) they were inspired by houston firing a coach that on paper didnt deserve it and thought, they are 11-1 right now the year after, it was an amazing move for them, what do we have to lose
2) they REALLY want riley, they saw him as the true source of the sucess and they see this are their only window to get him

You lose to UCONN in football and this is what happens.

Way to many job openings this year to make this decision, unless they already had someone lined up ahead of time.

I think we must have someone lined up. Stay tuned.

I don't see Riley coming here after we treated the guy that gave him is first real opportunity the boot this way.
