That's a pretty damn impressive line-up.
Hopefully ECU, Memphis, and USF will follow suit.
We're stuck in mediocrity for another year at least.
I know that you're aware of this, but I'll just state it for everyone else's benefit; for 61 years the University of Memphis has fixed it basketball issues when they surface and they will again at the proper and available time.
That is a nice list of coaches the AAC has assembled. A couple of them are walking NCAA violations just waiting to happen (or already have), but the programs knew that when they hired them. Memphis has hired one or two of them also. We've also had the man widely known as the cleanest coach direct us to the NCAA finals.

Roll damn wave!
Seriously, this is awesome. Made even better after dealing with all the haters going on about how Tulane can't hire a big name, should know their place, was being "delusional" or can't hire a good coach.
Eat it.

Understandable though with that ridiculous buy-out. Antigua is still new, but needs to show something next season IMO.
The real head-scratcher is ECU and Lebo. I just can't fathom how ECU fired their football HC, but gives a pass when it comes to basketball (the sport that kept them from upgrading conferences for many years)...
It is called $$$...no matter what people say.
Newsflash: basketball is your #2 money sport. ECU is losing big on the back end, and Lebo's buyout is only about 1 year of Pastner.
The money excuse went out the window when we announced Women's LAX. We don't have the money to buy out a failure of a head coach, but do have the money to start another non revenue sport? I'm sorry, but once again the ECU administration proves they do not no how to handle our basketball problem.

It's a shame. I have always thought that given the right leadership, the ceiling is very high for ECU hoops.

Heard he showed up to your gym and turned to the AD and said, "Nice practice facility...is the arena close by"?

I'm sure the AD was smart enough to show him the practice facility first, which is first-rate.

This is what good ADs do when they have to spend most of their energy fixing the football program. They bring in a veteran basketball coach who knows what he is doing and should be self sufficient.
UCF made a similar move.

That is completely false, Tulane owns New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

It wouldn't even be a bad idea if Tulane played some games at the SKC.

Here's hoping Mike is able to bring his son from Villanova AND keep Sham Williams on staff.
Wondering if Dunleavy has any interest in talking with Ostekowski aboutr staying instead of transferring?

Excited about our new Tulane coach and his NBA background and ties to New Orleans.

Whether this will work out or not, time will tell. But just for right now, hiring Dunleavy shows that Tulane is taking MBB seriously, which hasn't always been clear.
We're supposed to play UNC in November. I'll be curious to see how much media interest that game draws.
Cautiously optimistic, overall.

RE: Tulane makes MBB hire
Spooky Tulane is the top academic university in thenGulf South ranked Number 41 by US News and World Report. LSU Agricultural and Mechanical is about 150. Its endowment is over one billion dollars and Tulane has an international reputation unlike LSU A&M.
