Given the attendance at most of these bowls, I'm not sure we really need more than 20,000 to 30,000-seat stadiums, so long as they're nice and not glorified high school fields.

I wouldn't be shocked if Norfolk tried to get a bowl game at some point after the stadium rebuild, but I'd guess that wouldn't happen until whenever Phase 2 (30K seats and a good scoreboard) comes online.

Virginia on paper would be an ideal place to plop a bowl, but the only stadiums that could do it (U.Va, Va. Tech, to a degree JMU) are in non-destinations. Whereas Norfolk has two stadiums whose only appeal is capacity, and Richmond has jack all.

Go a little farther south, like Myrtle Beach after Coastal builds out. About the middle of the East coast teams. Plus tons of deals on hotels this time of year.

Most bowls don't sell that many tickets.
